Played around with Offset a little tonight. The one really nice thing is that if the ball is coming right at you, you know not to swing. I wasn't anymore effective with it than I am with Catcher, though, so I switched back to something a little more comfy.

Re: Consensus: Best Batting View?
I use cather view.
Tried the offset but for me it was harder to judge the pitch.
Wide is a better view of the outfield but less of the player, im not into fitst games at all and i feel like that view resembles FP in a way.
Pitcher view for is strictly for pitching, tried hitting with it and swung at pretty much everything. We play today, we win today, das it!-

Re: Consensus: Best Batting View?
I uuse the same! When I was patiently (or maybe it was impatiently) waiting for '10 to come out, I starting messing around with batting on outfield view in '09. I use it for both pitching and batting, and I love hitting in this view. You can read balls and strikes very well, but changeups are very difficult to pick up. But it looks so much like a real broadcast!!Comment

Re: Consensus: Best Batting View?
I thought I would try out the wide view last night and I think I like it. I think I need a new view other then catcher. Offset or outfield I've never liked but I think I will stick with wide.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

Re: Consensus: Best Batting View?
I have at one time or another over the last 3 yrs tried all the batting views. My favorite is High, because the batter does not fill up the entire screen.
The problem with high view is it is the hardest to read the strike zone. The plus of high for me is besides the player screen size would be the transition from hitting the ball to broadcast or rtp view. Very smooth.
If I could read the pitches better in high view, I would use it all the time. I am using wide batting view now with outfield pitching.Comment

I am going to give high a try.
i mostly prefer views with a nice shot of the stadium skylineComment

Re: Consensus: Best Batting View?
pretty much.... you get to see the arch of breaking pitches. i used to use catcher view and when someone threw a 12/6 curve for ex, i couldnt tell if it was gonna bottom out, it sometimes seemed like a fastball... until it bottomed out. the offset is kind of cool too for me, visually.. it's sorta like a three quarters view instead of dead on one dimensional catcher view... the catcher view is basically 1 view for your right and left batters. the offset gives you 2 diff. possible view angles... initially it was hard to learn. as you go through your lineup and the angle changes for ex. if you had 2 right handed batters but the next in your lineup is a lefty, the angle changes for the left batter, and your eyes have to adjust again... but after alot bat of time, i was able to get used to it mostly. and i stuck with it cuz again, it looked cool to see the 3rd dimensional trajectories of each pitch. the other hard thing about offset though is, the sidearm pitchers.... a same armed batter/pitcher is hard to track when using offset bat view. a right handed batter on offset facing a right handed sidearmer, sometimes you cant see the release point of this type of pitcher due to offset. challenging stuff.Comment

Re: Consensus: Best Batting View?
I started using Outfield view to hit last year and like it. Took a bit to get used to it this year again after a break, but am starting to get used to it again. It seems weird, but I think I can pick up the ball better using this view. Also looks awesome like others have said.Comment

Re: Consensus: Best Batting View?
I have always used the Catcher view to hit ever since MLB '07: The Show. For some reason unknown to me, I can't hit for crap using this view anymore. I've been playing some games using the Outfield view, and I seem to hit better with that view this year.
I've had a problem hitting in general recently ever since I finished my season in '09 last year. I'm very puzzled by it. I'm pretty sure my TV doesn't have lag, because I never had problems in MLB '08 and '09 with hitting. But like I said, ever since my '09 season finished, my hitting has taken a bit of a tumble.Comment
