Knight (or anyone else) couplequick question--- I downloaded the roster update the other day-- all the lineups rotations look good! However, everytime I skip spring training on my Nats franchise, the CPU DFA's Tyler Clippard with all my settings on manual. Would this be fixed doing 30 team control or do you have any way to keep it fom happening from my team and the other 29? And just to claify I need to fix the lineups manualy after ST(when the problems seem to occur)?

Re: 30 Team Roster control
Exactly. You must set the lineups and rotations and rosters AFTER spring training. I found out the hard way last year when I did it before my ST was over, only to have all the teams reset them before the first reg. season game!!!Comment

Re: 30 Team Roster control
2) You still can't edit the CPU roster on the screen before the game starts like you can in exhibition. Or if you can, I can figure it out.Comment

Re: 30 Team Roster control
I would go with...
30 team control...
make 2 profiles...one with everything auto except linueps and trades
the other your profile...
Start with your profile for your team...
No profile for the rest...
Global options...everything auto except trades...set that to manual.
(you can have waivers too...but I didn't see that many...so it's a preference)
Now...you will see all the CPU offers for all teams....and you will get to decide to place them through or not.....the cpu will handle everything else...including the lineups..
Now...when you are coming up against a team..whose lineup you are not happy with.....you can assign that second profile(with the manual lineups) to that team.....set the lineups....play that series...then set it back to NO PROFILE.
You can do that for every team you think has screwy lineups!
Also....you can change the lineups for the teams(without the lineups being set to manual)...but they won't stay there all season(you'd have to go back in every once in a while)...like they WILL with them set to MANUAL.

Re: 30 Team Roster control
Thanks man, so let me make sure I understand this. Never use that 2nd profile unless I want to change a team's lineup I'm playing against? Will the lineups be screwed up in games I'm not playing? For example I'm the Braves, so if the Cubs are playing the Cardinals will Lee and Holliday be batting 2nd in those games since I have my global settings to auto?
ps2...it take 15 minutes.
Insane? ....
Probably took you longer to type your two posts.
Either you want it...or you don't. What can I say?
It's there.

Re: 30 Team Roster control
I'm controlling all teams. How do I put someone on DL?
EDIT:
Nevermind, I found it!Last edited by Greene_Flash03; 03-06-2010, 12:34 AM.Comment

I'd be wary of using Auto Fix; it's better to just take the time to fix it yourself if you want to keep accurate lineups.Comment

Re: 30 Team Roster control
Remember, you have access to your ENTIRE 40 man rosters in Spring Training, meaning they are ALL on the MLB roster at that point. When you skip Spring Training, the CPU automatically sends players down so you are at the 25 man MLB Roster limit. Clippard is out of options, so he MUST clear waivers before being sent down.
Even if you set the rosters yourself, IE sending down the players you want to the minors before ending Spring Training, Clippard would still have to pass through waivers.
This is just like in Real Life. Players that are on the 40 man roster, and have no options left, at the end of Spring Training, they must pass through waivers to be assigned to the Minor Leagues.Comment

They are NOT DFA'ing him. Clippard is being assigned to the minors, but he is out of options, so he must first clear waivers.

Re: 30 Team Roster control
What are you guys doing with the payrolls? Are you just using house rules? I mean these teams have huge payrolls so I can't see a team trading guys with big contracts at the trade deadline if they have $45 million to spend. This is what disappoints me the most in this game, I guess I'm just going to have to use house rules to get around it.Comment
