Re: RTTS Pitching Velocity Problem (Solved)
I started a new pitcher last night, with a 4 seam, slider, and 12-6 curve. My fastball says it should be 90, but it hangs around 85-86. I haven't played enough to put points into velocity, but I'm concerned that it's so low. It's the same as my previous pitcher who had a change up.Comment

Thats odd, I know of several people with the same combo and they are throwing right with their scouting report. Try improving your velocity ratings and keep them all within 10 of each other. Re: RTTS Pitching Velocity Problem (Solved)
Yea it does seem kind of odd that certain pitches would negatively impact velocity early on. But I think I'd rather them just single out the problem and correct it for MLB '11. I learned my lesson with patches when it came to NBA 2K10, and all of a sudden my centers started hovering around the 3-point line and jacking up the occasional 3 in My Player Mode after that patch they released. There was no work around for that in My Player.
At lease we have a work around for this issue right now. If they can guarantee me 100%, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that a patch won't negatively effect my current RTTS then I'd be ok with it.Comment

Re: RTTS Pitching Velocity Problem (Solved)
I agree completely, they should not rush a patch to fix a problem there is a workaround for. They should take their time to make sure they can fix it and not create an additional problem. I am content right now with the workarounds we have found. If and when the devs patch it they should not rush it whatsoever, for the reasons you have said.Yea it does seem kind of odd that certain pitches would negatively impact velocity early on. Re: RTTS Pitching Velocity Problem (Solved)
I, for one, hope it gets patched because otherwise, I probably won't play much of MLB 10. I play mostly RTTS. I like making pitchers and I don't much care for these work arounds. I've been tempted to try a position player, but the over abundance of the knuckle ball among generated players kills it for me. I would also like to try franchise, but it's hard to find the time. 10 years ago, if I'd had a game like this with the gameplay/franchise mode combination that I was sorely aching for at the time, I'd have been able to do multiple 162 game season, no problem. Now, it's not so simple.A screaming comes across the sky...Comment

Re: RTTS Pitching Velocity Problem (Solved)
I'm sure everyone who has posted in this thread wants it patched, but as I said before they should not rush it. If they do then they may potentially create an additional problem while fixing the 1st. I would rather it get patched 1 time and have it work properly than have about 3 patches and still not have it work properly.I, for one, hope it gets patched because otherwise, I probably won't play much of MLB 10. Re: RTTS Pitching Velocity Problem (Solved)
I just decided to go ahead and start another new road to the show with a pitcher that has a 4sfb, 12-6 curve and slider. I'm not having much problems with velocity, my fastball is usually 88-91 when it says 91. My breaking pitches are lower than what it says but not by much and they are getting faster as I add more to their velocity. My guy is a strikeout machine, I'm loving having a slider as I usually just do the fastball, changeup, curveball dealComment

I used to use slider all the time but I am averaging like 8 strikeouts a game with my 4SFB, CUT and SPL!I just decided to go ahead and start another new road to the show with a pitcher that has a 4sfb, 12-6 curve and slider. Re: RTTS Pitching Velocity Problem (Solved)
i started (before i saw this thread) with a righty, josh johnson motion:
4sfb, sweeping curve, circle change.
basically dominated out of the gate (with no sort of promotion at all, even though i went 17-3 and started the AS game first year?? what does a guy gotta do to get the call up to AAA at least?) and got my 4sfb velocity up to 77 (game said it was supposed to be 94...it topped out at 91) just after the end of season one. sweeping curve velocity up to 52 or so, circle change velocity up to 54, and i added a slider, so that velocity was only at like 45. the whole time, though, as i was adding velocity points to my fastball, i could tell it was quicker and i was getting it past guys better even if it still said i was throwing 88-91.
then i saw this thread, and i started just dumping points into my secondary pitches' velocity and now they're up to 60, 57, 58, and i can already see my fastball velocity starting to rise to where it should be.
maybe the changeup slows you down some at first, but if you bump up your fastball velocity enough and level off the others, even just a little bit, it helps a lot.Last edited by jwa1417; 03-12-2010, 03:35 AM.Comment
