Whats the Bug? How did it happen or what did you do to trigger it? Can you recreate it?

1) Runner on first.
2) Pick off to first base.
3) Runner slides back in.
4) Throw goes over first baseman
5) Runner presses L1 to advance base immediately.
6) Ball goes out of play, ball is dead. Runner still touching first base.
7) Runner is awarded 3rd base.

Official MLB Rules section 7.05 (h) states:
Each runner including the batter-runner may, without liability to be put out, advance one base, if a ball, pitched to the batter, or thrown by the pitcher from his position on the pitcher’s plate to a base to catch a runner, goes into a stand or a bench, or over or through a field fence or backstop. The ball is dead.


How often can the bug be reproduced? Always. Step 5 seems to be important or the runner is only awarded one base, correctly.

Yes, I see this more lately...also noticing the CPU knowing almost everytime I am going to steal and attempting more pickoffs than usual once I hit the L2 button.

Batting in RTTS, I come across instances where the at-bat starts at an 0 - 1 count, before any pitches have been thrown. I have experienced this at least 5 times in my current RTTS. Both before and after installing Patch #2.

How often can the bug be reproduced?
As said before, this has happened at least 5 times, as I distinctly recall being struck out on 2 pitches. It may have happened more than that, but I didn't notice because I put the ball in play without looking at the count.

This happened pre update 2 and post update 2. After approx. 4 seasons of franchise, when you start the new season, computer teams release many many many many of their top hitters. They remain unsigned until the next offseason. You can then offer them next to minimum salary and they will accept at the end of the off season. This trend continues in season after season.

How often can the bug be reproduced?
every time I play franchise mode.

I am in batting practice before a game Verlander (right hander) will be pitching. So I am batting left (I am a switch hitter). Who is the righty throwing BP to me? My starting pitcher, C.C. Sabathia. Not only is a starting pitcher pitching BP, I didn't know C.C. was ambidextrous.

How often can the bug be reproduced?
Every time when C.C. is the starting pitcher and a righty pitcher is my opponent.

Had this happen two times so far. I won one game and lost another, but it did not reflect on my record. Weird thing is, all statistics were counted as if the game was played. I have the game set to auto save so I don't know what the issue is.

How often can the bug be reproduced?

Only thing I noticed is that the first game Carl Crawford got hurt and the second game Kelly Shoppach was hurt. The injuries remained even though the franchise acted as if the games were never played.

My RTTS guy on 1st and the 3rd base coach gives me the hit and run. I set off with the pitch, batter swings and misses and I get thrown out at 2nd. Manager benches me for stealing without permission. (This is about the 8th time I've been benched for something I've no control over and it's ruining the game for me).

How often can the bug be reproduced?

Whenever there's a situation described as above.

What I did to avoid this was to take off from first and stop. If the batter swings and misses, I would go back to first. If the batter makes contact, I continue on. You will lose five points for failing the goal if you return to first but that is better than not playing at all for a week or so. If you do this, you will not get benched.

Only happened once so far. Fly ball to Drew in right, ball pops out of his glove he then appeared to catch it before it hit the ground. Runner is safe on first and no error recorded.

How often can the bug be reproduced?

I have only seen it once so far.

For those of us who does not want to control all 30 teams, franchise is broken. The game stops you from getting past a certain date. I've tried everything and can't advance so have to restart.

How often can the bug be reproduced?

Every franchise that is started.

Same problem, but I only had a profile with one team and left the rest to global settings. I started a Reds franchise. I've played the first 15 games and started to sim and cannot progress past July 22, 2010. It will not let me play or sim past this date. I'm going to try to restart a new franchise with a different team and see if I can at least get past the first season before playing each game.

I have this happen frequently as well. I have noticed a symptom though. If the music ever stops playing/isn't playing, then this exit freeze will occur. This can either be in the menus or while in a game though the freeze won't occur until you exit a game. The music can be from the jukebox music or even the intro/opening of a game music where the announcers are supposed to be talking over it.

One time after noticing this trend, I noticed that the music stopped playing while in the menu and just decided to quit the game. I held down the PS button to quit the game as opposed to using the quick XMB access and the PS3 had to do that restart thing where it beeps 3 times. I would consider this to be related to the RTTS freeze issue.

I'm not sure if the music has to stop working for the freeze to occur but, if the music has stopped working, then it'll freeze 100% of the time.

This is exactly what's happening to me. But it also occurs in Franchise mode.

What is up with the EXCESSIVE amount of pickoffs by the CPU? If I take one step, almost every pickoff results in being caught.. Also, pickoffs do not seem to be scored as a caught stealing as they should.. I have had to shut off pickoff attempts by the CPU off completely..

As long as I take a one step lead..

In 'Pending Transactions', trades that I offer disappear once I shut the system off. So, if I offer a trade, and it takes two-three days for them to accept, I must play those games in one sitting (which is time consuming). If I exit out of the franchise, the trades are still under the pending transactions menu, but once the system shuts off and I turn the game back on, they are erased and I need to offer the trade again.

How often can the bug be reproduced?

Every single time. Quite annoying, considering my brother and I share a franchise.
