Re: Information--amatuer draft MLB10--bug?
I'm trying to figure which patch may have caused this. Most of my simming and testing occured day 1 or 3/2. Patch 1 came out 3/3.
Jlech did his testing and report on the problems on 3/11. Patch 2 came out 3/18.
Jlech seemed to get the same issues we had prior to patch 2 if what I am seeing is correct?
I wish I could just download patch 1 to test...lolComment

Re: Information--amatuer draft MLB10--bug?
I think it's perfectly clear that something is wonky with franchise. Regardless if it is potential draft or budget screwiness, there's something broken. 30 team workaround shouldn't be the common cure - I think it's just something that plain isn't working in the game code.
JLech's videos and time spent (on patched games, like 99% of the public are playing) as well as others show that there is something going wrong with budgets affecting Free Agency and therefore the overall, long-term franchise experience.
So, broken. I'm not angry about it, mind you - a little sad that we'll probably have to wait until next year for a fix this big - but just pointing out that it's clear something isn't working right. Hopefully SCEA continues their stellar record of getting things right eventually.Comment

Re: Information--amatuer draft MLB10--bug?
Would that work? I would rather teams like the Royals or Pirates be able to afford guys like Pujols (I would love that kind of randomness) than to have the superstars rotting in FA forever. Would budgets off work sort of like a salary cap in the way of equalization?Comment

Wow, that's very encouraging news. I wonder why no one thought of something so simple sooner lol.Comment

Re: Information--amatuer draft MLB10--bug?
Did a sim test with ignore budgets on. Good news is I didn't see any big time players in FA's in 2014. Also looks like the payrolls ended up pretty good with the lower teams not signing the big names.

How much does that affect trading, arbitration and FA signing?Last edited by tabarnes19_SDS; 03-29-2010, 03:13 PM.Comment

Re: Information--amatuer draft MLB10--bug?
One thing that I would like to see, but can't check myself right now, is towards the end of the offseason the cpu releases players like Sabathia and Lincecum.
Their salary should count against the teams budget, but I don't think it is, why else would the cpu release them if they still have to pay them?Comment

Re: Information--amatuer draft MLB10--bug?
I believe I tried it off last year and there was very little player movement. I'll try it again.....
I am going to test again tonight to see if they are counting salary of the released stars, which I don't think they are.
I also want to see the differences from the unpatched test I do. I am curious what is causing it.Comment

I assume if you ignore budgets, that teams team will not spend more than their profits? If so, then it makes sense that teams like the royals etc. would have a lower payroll. Is this what you are seeing in your sim test?Comment
