    Analog celebrations?
Strike out the side and have the option to celebrate with a fist up or point and the other teams dug out with a nice shout...Hit back to back homers and roll the bowling ball like Prince did. Also, this comes at a price, since the team you just showed up is salivating for the next time they face you.

Basically, add the side of the show we don't have. The fights, rivalries, celebrations, payback!...If hockey can have some violence, why can't baseball
    ?

I would like to see analog control for the pitching and throwing in the field. Hitting would be cool too but only if the hit varity will be good (like it is now) and get the great check swing system thats in place now over to analog, than i will be all for it on all aspects hitting pitching and fielding

Backbacker started this thread earlier in the year which looks like a good implementation of using the analog sticks: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...e-lets-do.html

As long as all of its optional, I have no problem. Probably not for me but I'll give it a try.

          No.

Development time is limited, and I think resources are better spent elsewhere.

I would rather see you spend your time getting the current system as solid as possible. For example, fixing things like too many wild pitches on default settings, too many hard hit balls.

I Vote for Pitching. I think classic pitching does not give enough control to the user while meter gives a little too much making it where we cant see the differences in pitchers ability definitively. A system that blends the two and joins them in the middle would be the best system ever. Thanks for the oppurtunity to provide feedback.

No, I would rather see resources dedicated elsewhere. I do not feel this is a pressing concern.

I think a reverse manager mode would benifit the game. It is simply where you dont make any decisions and you just play. For instance, pitching changes, pinch hitters and runners, definsive alignment, etc... would be handled by the cpu. I have tons of friends that think the game is great but are intimidated by baseball. They have asked me can you play this way and it is pretty much the only thing stopping them from getting the game.

This has nothing to do with any other part of the game. Again its just a poll and a ttopic of conversation. Try not to over think this guys that's when things get out of wack.

I'd like to see improved throwing controls. Holding the throw button post-catch should improve accuracy, not power. Power could be controlled by pre-charging or by adding an extra button (such as holding L2 while pressing a throw button). This would allow for a wider variety of tosses:

                    1. Quick and Powerful (highest error rate, fastest catch-to-throw release)
                    2. Quick release (Good for short distances only, e.g. flipping to 2B on a double play)
                    3. Normal
                    4. Accurate (low error rate, takes longer to release)
                    5. Strong and accurate (longest release, low error rate, better than "accurate" for long throws).

Would you like to see new gameplay options for hitting, pitching and fielding for MLB '11? If so why and what would you like to see? Please no smart remarks you want us to take your voices seriously post like it. As always the devil is in the details.

P.S. This will close in about a week and a half
I personally would love to see more analog options. Using the "other guy" as an example, I enjoy analog hitting and pitching but don't use the analog fielding. For me the hitting is the best part simply because I feel like I had more of an effect on the outcome rather then just swinging the bat.

I would recommend something like R2 plus stick for power swing and just right stick for contact swing. I don't like the fact that in the other game you just push forward for a contact swing. I was a lead off hitter and even slapping at the ball is more then just pushing forward, you have to load then fire. The fight off a pitch swing was a good idea on their part as well, but pushing the stick sideways while batting just doesn't seem natural either.

I know I'm in the minority, but I'm not that much of a minority. So when I say I'd rather not have any fancy analog controls I know there are some who agree with me. I'm mainly interested in guys performing to their ratings with variations above or below that are realistic or believable. Please don't turn this game into Madden where stick skills can overcome player attributes. Seriously, please don't go down that road. If the day comes where some scrub AA guy can outhit Pujols on me because he figured out some glitch that is the day I will burn my PS3! In all seriousness..whatever you do keep this game pure and keep it respectful to the game of baseball. Don't let the arcade stuff that might wow the mainstream press influence you.

                          This!
That pitching system felt very natural and was fun to use.
I'm not so sure about analog hitting but having it as an option is always nice.
With fielding I like throwing with the analog stick to the base, pointing the stick to the desired base with the further improved throwing meter in full effect

And someone else mentioned this I liked was having the ability to trigger certain celebrations or defeat animations for certain moments. Skate 2 has done this and is actually pretty cool (signature styles).
So for example when rounding the bases during a homerun you could pick out of a handful of different celebrations inluding the infamous holding the helmet

Sure, why not. As long as it's optional I am all for something new. "Rock and Fire" pitching sounds good.

I would love new methods to batting and pitching! Ofcourse with the current methods as a available option.

I have started to get tired of the pitching meter. Hitting I don't mind as much though.

As for analog swings I thought MVP NCAA baseball did it best. Pull back and then pushing forward to where the ball is (to go away or pull). Maybe hold R2 while swinging for power.

The 'other' current baseball games hitting method is definitely not ideal. Push forward for contact (lame)? Also no aim is implemented.

Analog pitching is definitely something you guys should look into. Even if batting is kept the same.

It is a legitimate position on the issue. By definition, if someone has to spend time on this part of the game it takes resources away from developing another part of the game. Time in finite and there is only so much time to develop the product. Since the new controls would be optional, the only logical reason to even offer a "NO" option is because people feel that time should be spent elsewhere.
