Sure, I would like to see new options. My only concern is that with any new mechanic, it will take a couple of iterations to really get fleshed out.
Would you like to see new or/both analog options for gameplay in MLB '11?

Re: Would you like to see new or/both analog options for gameplay in MLB '11?
I do not want to have analog controls for batting or pitching. Its one of the main reasons why the other baseball title is of no interest for me. I think the more important issues are the servers side, and things actually being able to function.Comment

I endorse the opinions expressed in this previous response. I'm not a fan of analog hitting, but analog fielding would be a big improvement.I was never a fan of the analog controls for batting or pitching, however the analog control for throwing in the field found in "the other game" I LOVED! What was great is that failure to properly point the stick at the base location would cause the throw to be slightly offline. In this way throwing errors, and offline thows, felt so much less random. Idealy I'd love to see a system where the speed of the throw was controlled by the speed at which you flicked the stick, with the accuracy controlled by the proper direction. In this way a hard throw has more potential for being offline.Comment

I vote "yes" . Something new will be great but please give us the choice of being able to use the meter and classic controls. Having the options available can help to make both fans of controls happy.
I do love the hitting the way it is so please leave it the way it is or give us that choice. I also love the meter pitching but would welcome a change as long as you can revert back to classic.PSN: ckarlic

Re: Would you like to see new or/both analog options for gameplay in MLB '11?
Please just give us an option for 100% fulll control over all the fielders!
Also would like to see the option to use the new "MOVE" feature in MLB The Show. It would be great for Batting in the Home Run Derby!
Also please for what ever you deside too add please don't take away what we have now!!! I am totally open to adding new ways to play the game as long as its only an option!Comment

It will be an option remember not mandatory an option when we added meter pitching did we get ride of classic? No, we added a new fielding meter this year did we get rid of the old way to field no. As with every feature it will always be an option.Comment

With that in mind, then yes. I say add as many options as you can. The more the merrier.

Re: Would you like to see new or/both analog options for gameplay in MLB '11?
Absolutely. Pitching and fielding feel just a bit stale. A couple of new modes would definitely give '11 a good fresh jolt. It's been awhile since The Show has felt really "new".Comment

For someone to vote NO when this is an Option is beyond me. Option means you do not have to use it. You can still just press X if you want.GT: BIG CAROLINA23

Re: Would you like to see new or/both analog options for gameplay in MLB '11?
I just fear you will put too much into new gimics, honestly. The Show is amazing. There are a few small things, like player clipping, no collision detection between players, etc, that are missing and need to be focused on.
If your team doesn't spend 80% of the development time on new gimics, stick controls, etc, and spends say a small amount, and test & perfect it, I am all for any new options any game can ever have, especially the best sports game out there. I don't believe in hitting with an analog stick, 2k tried it, and their "patch" to add check swings? that's embarrassing. It's also more of gimic.
If people are getting stale with controls in a baseball game, then your not a baseball fan. The Show is an almost perfect replication of real baseball, button combos is fine with me.
I would much rather see this 9.9 out of 10 become a 10 title by perfecting things like:
Checking with the 1st and 3rd base ump for check swings (manually, a button assignment, right stick, left stick, post pitch
Collision detection, no clipping, running through other players
Online play - Why cant you view from behind the Pitcher when pitching? I don't get that its not an option yet
I know the thread is simply about adding more use of the sticks, so throwing out other topics will be ignored, and Im cool with that, but please keep in mind, 2K is full of gimics, and it's a beer coaster every year, The Show isn't, and it's King for that reason.. GAMEPLAY. REALISMComment

Re: Would you like to see new or/both analog options for gameplay in MLB '11?
I love the pitching in the "other game" this year, but I thought the analog pitching was horrible the two years prior. It took them 3 tries to get it right. So, while I would love to see some sort of analog pitching next year, I think it's a good idea to leave the meter options in, as it may not work out so well initially. I personallly don't care for analog hitting or fielding, but I still think they should be included as options. The more options devs give users the better. This is applicable to all areas of the game.Check out my large collection of NCAA Football 12 screen shots from my Ohio State and USF Dynasties!

Re: Would you like to see new or/both analog options for gameplay in MLB '11?
Right Analog swing stick for hitting. it's the ONLY thing I liked about 2K, the only thing. One button swing is extremely easy to use, in all difficulties. swing stick just has a better feel to it, like swinging a bat. I wouldn't mind seein analog for pitching as an OPTION well, but I prefer the meter the pitching. thank you for giving us a chance to voice our opinion on the gameplay. that's why MLB the show is the greatest game there is. thankx againComment
