I think too many people in this thread have made this a wishlist. There are a lot of things I HOPE they change, but I'm realistic enough to realize that some of those things won'b be. But here's what I suspect will be changed, not neccessarily my wishlist.

RTTS will be improved upon somehow. Enough years of people complaining about the structure of certain goals and how they work (i.e., hit and run, steal a base, etc.) that they will address it in some way.

I seem to vaguely remember something about weather being slated for 11' (then again, I seem to remember hearing that pretty much every year).

There will somehow be more of a focus on online play. Now I'm a strictly offline player when it comes to sports games, but the writing is on the wall that online is the wave of the sports gaming future as companies (namely EA, but lets face it, they do lead the industry) turn their focus to it. I suspect that SCEA is going to follow suit and place the main focus on online sooner or later. I don't really like this shift in focus, but again, this isn't what I hope will happen, but rather, what I think will happen.

I would hope they get new commentators. Also please add a new pitching and hitting system as an option so the game won't feel so stale. Some fixes to season mode would be nice. PLayer models would also be welcomed.

-Completely interface overhaul
-Create a Stadium/Team
-New Announcers
-Analog pitching/hitting option to keep it fresh
-Further improvements on the throwing meter.
-More pop up information during games
-In 10 pitchers are already fully in there position when the batter isn't even in the box yet. Fix please.
-Further improve the real time presentation
-Rain delays, just make it drop and the then cut to a cut scene where the players leave the field and the infield gets covered...or close the roof in the particular stadiums.
-The ability to check pitch history again with the right trigger, without having to put guess pitch/pitch info on. I used that all the time in 08 and 09 but they changed it in 10 for some reason. Oh and the colours are off.
-The option to turn off all the screen clutter like what balls the pitcher can throw, the power hit square tip, the quick menu tip etc.
-The ability to start a game at any time you like.
-Give us the choice to argue calls and the intensity like you could in MVP 05 (charge the mount anyone ).
-Outfielders that don't reach full speed within 1 second.
-Update grass textures, I really like the look of it in the Madden 11 demo.
-Please change the rock formation in the outfield of Angels stadium, I like to play there but those ps1 graphics really starts to annoy me after several years now

This is becoming just another wishlist thread.

What I think we'll see in '11.

Very much think this will be in
-Another pitching system to choose from. It will use the analog sticks.
-(perhaps another choice for batting as well using the sticks)
-Improved ball physics
-Improved routes to the ball and more "mistakes" by CPU players(not errors)
-A lot of new additions to the editor
-More in game stats-"pop-ups" and overlays

May make it in
-Custom league setup(I think the amount of guys enjoying making and using Classic Rosters(there are quite a few "new" guys entering the roster making process and they are all awesome!) and I think that this may have SCEA notice that it's not just a fringe aspect of the community. If guys had the ability to create historical seasons and upload them to the Vault(a new Franchise Vault perhaps) they would be much used and fully extend the life of the game further into the gaming year.

Unfortunately, you guys hoping for a stadium creator tool. I just don't think so. It's such a complicated process and if they gave you pre-fab pieces to put together...I don't think it would be up to SCEA's standards. Don't get me wrong....I would LOVE to see guys creating stadiums....ESPECIALLY old time stadiums and uploading them to SPORTSCONNECT...but.

it's hard to suspect what they'll change in '11, easier to suggest what needs to be...

one thing i suspect is, allowing us to rotate the batter view to any angle we want, instead of a fixed set of only wide, catcher, offset, for ex. i think this is what their competitor, 2ksports, already offers.

i suspect they're gonna finally overhaul the broadcast dialogue logic and database. it's tired and is not as dynamic as not only 2k's baseball game, but certainly basketball games, for over a yr now. this is something SCEA has put aside to do other things, long enough. Other broadcast technologies are very responsive to game moments... it got to the point where it seems quite real and on the fly.

along w/ this, the reimplemented homerun derby will be tweaked for better broadcast presentation.. in 2010, seems kind of 'lonely' as you're taking your swings. none of the 'wow... look at that moon shot' by the announcers that adds to the exhibition of the HR derby. also, need to have a bunch of kids running in the outfield to catch flyballs.

i suspect that the collision detection system will be further widened, finally and well needed for years. base runner running through an infielder? sigh.

I suspect there will be implementation of those ball boys along the foul lines.

i also suspect the crowd in the stands will be even more randomed/unique instead of repeating patterns of the same fans.


i suspect there will be more animations, again... but not sure if they will finally roll out the completely new player models... it looked like they could not fit it in last yr, or that it was not a ultra high priority to make it happen, put it that way, and i'm not sure it will be fore 2011 either... as they are toying w/ trending, by way of focusing on 3D gaming. I think 2ksports is gonna do new modelling... because theirs was lagging already from 2009 and 2010 it was evident. I expect they're doing something big for 2011 to keep the momentum they got from 2010, the bounce back from their 2009 dud. Scea needs to keep this on their radar. 2K's pitching motion, particularly the animation for the arm moment and ball release... and in yaku? sports (the japanese bball game), are both better than the shows, 09 +10. For the ball release to look realistic i think is high priority, as we have to see it 100+ times during a game.

i also suspect it's gonna be just as buggy right off the release as every yr is. i thought this yr, w/ the buildup to the release of 2010, w/ the guys flown in to play test etc... that this yr was gonna be so less buggy than 2009 was, but it was so not. it made me preorder 2010 but i likely wont for 2011.

i'm adding that along w/ suspecting more play animations, as they add every year as they are indeed needed... i think they will install functional gametype facial expressions across all players... though i'd love them to make unique ones liike how NYY Mark Texiera's face blows up at the moment he swings his bat through the zone, i'm suspecting to see some universal ones... grimmacing when a fielder dives for a ball or the moment the pitcher is in his throwing motion towards the plate, wide eyed opened mouth look when flyball is being chased down but may still go over the fielders head... and along with this some programming to make the fielder's eyeball track the baseball... all would help them look a bit less like stiffs. i think facial expressions need to catch up to body animations and 2011 they will come around to address this.

I would like the pitch confidence redesigned a little, right now I believe if you throw a strike it raises the blue bar on that particular pitch, but a lot of pitching is about missing the strike zone and getting guys to swing at bad pitches. I think the confidence bar should be tied to wether or not you hit the spot you aim at, some type of zone the closer to the spot the more confidence the further away you get less or lose some

I think we'll see something done with the player models because SCEA said they didn't have enough time to do that for MLB 10.

I also think they'll make changes to the HR derby cause it seemed to be put in the game this year without too much thought. It's still a cool mode, but I have a feeling SCEA wants to do a little more with it, like kids in the outfield catching balls, trophy awarded to the winner, more camera angles, more options..

Other than those, I would think the changes would be smaller but just as important.. things like routes players take to field balls.. fielding, base running, hitting and pitching animations.. more accurate temperature and daylight transitions.. how the field wears..

A revamped baserunning and stealing mechanism. Revamped RTTS with realistic goals. I hit a double with 1 out, A-Rod is up at bat and you ask me to steal 3rd? Really?

Dear Sony,

would you please, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!, give us an option to use some NORMAL baserunning controls. Both options in the game right now are horrible. I am so sick and tired of the baserunning controls costing me runs/games because of stupid stuff happening when I can't input the correct fatality combo to make my runners go where they need to.
Just at least give the option to use basic controls like old baseball games used. PLEASE.

Every year we see that kind of trade.

Here is what I hope

1) ability to edit contracts
2) ability to edit Potential
3) Templates for RTTS (speedster, fielder, power hitter, slap hitter)
4) Pitcher ratings vs LH and RH batters...something that makes the AI make better use of LOOGYS and pull starters in jams against the opposite side hitter if they are weak against them
5) Ability to MANUALLY select All Stars and Awards...the GG award winners are horrible
6) more fielding stats and a seperate section where you can see Sabermatric stats, if that is your thing
7) Ability to retire or unretire players and coaches/Managers
8) Fire Managers/coaches in season
9) Retire players becoming Managers (minors) and coaches
10) Ability to create and edit managers/coaches
11) Section where you can see all Pitchers from MLB to single A and their pitches, for easier editing

and most important

12) % of time pitch is thrown by that pitcher...if I face Marquis...I should see that Sinker 80% of the time, even if arguably his change up is better. Those can be founf on pitchgraphs.com

Online franchise where you need only a minmum of two human players and all other teams controlled by AI

Ability to play franchise games on PSP and then sync with ps3

Custom division so that Knight can recreate 1986!!
