Actually custom songs were included in 08, you just couldn't assign them specifically to players, teams, etc. They were mainly just for the main menu but after games the stadium would play random songs.

I apologize if this was already addressed but I went back a couple pages to see and I couldn't find it.

Did they fix where within 5+ seasons of RTTS, there would be like 6-10 great players left in free agency?

Ok I remember reading somewhere the HUD could be completely customized to your own liking this year. And then I mean turning off the "hit square for power", the pitch types etc.

But later on enigma said that you can only change the location of the pitch meter.

Can someone clear this up because I was really excited about this feature but now it might not be in...

        Thanks!

Fixed. Budgets and logic were reworked. Thanks Kolbe!

I don't think anyone said the HUD was fully customizable. I don't think it is.
You can change the size of the pitching meter and put it anywhere on the screen......but that's it. It can't be removed entirely.

Knight, did you happen to notice if the head nod from the pitcher to catcher when the pitch is agreed upon is back for HUM this year? It was in for both HUM & CPU in 09 but only CPU in 10, which saddened me, i like my nods, adds the realism.

Question for those CD guys who played RTTS ... The hitting and pitching aspects of it have been covered extensively (good at bat, bad at bat, etc.) but what about fielding?

How will the fielding be graded in terms of performance in the new system? And what about for those who just like to simulate their fielding chances?

                Hmmm...I didn't notice. Sorry.

Your ratings will still determine your range/movement/fielding, but the actual movement is all on you now. With a lower fielding rating, you're not going to get the same jump on the ball you would when you get a higher rating....and now the movement is ALL on you in RTTS. I'm fairly certain the same ratings apply in terms of the animations you can get in line with your ratings also. Until you gain in your fielding ratings...you have a smaller chance of getting those elite plays.
When you say simulate...what are you asking. Simmed games? That is all ratings.

That does look great... is that a new overlay format/design? I'd love to see stuff like that in franchise!

However, the more operations required, the greater chance it could affect performance... ie, pulling the "counting" stats while simultaneously sorting the entire stats DB to get the league ranking. I can see where there could be an issue with adding that to all the other processes going on during a game... or I'm just talking out of my rear!

I'm fairly certain that remark was in one of the first previews from one of the mag sites. Perhaps it was taken out of context -- I think I was one of the first to comment on it, so my apologies if so -- or maybe the author saw the pitching meter and made an incorrect assumption.

But I really wish it was true...

Yeah. That "T-4th in AL with 45 Doubles" is golden. Hopefully those details are expanded to show key in-game or season or career accomplishments throughout a season/franchise.

And having the players cut out instead of in a box looks really nice... I wonder how it looks with created players...

When you're pitching from the pitchers view....directly after the pitch, as the ball goes through the strike zone, a little marker pops up displaying the Pitch type, movement and speed. Are you able to turn that display off? As a pitcher, its something that is a little distracting and is less immersive. I'd prefer just to watch the ball cross the zone, and get the umpires reaction/call.... as you would in real life. Just curious

You always had the ability to turn that off. In menu set "pitch call out" to "off".

And too bad about the HUD.
I mean do we really have to be reminded that the square button is used for a power swing all the time. They don't show the circle button for contact swing in 11 as well do they?

And in real life you know what pitches the opposit pitcher can throw so I don't need to see it...all the time.

Just give us the option to show it or not. Shouldn't be too hard...?
It would make the game look even more true to life. I remember lots of people asking for this in the feedback forum last year!

Could someone tell how the new player performance system works with fielding. With hitting you have good, bat and great at bats, etc. But will a shortstop get more training points if he makes a diving stop in the hole and makes the out at first, then he would get fielding an easy grounder? Because that would be great.

                            Another question :P

Last year if you enabled real time presentation, all batters would have the same animation after hitting a homerun (grabbing their helmet while rounding 2nd and 3rd)

I remember this was supposedly being worked on for 11, has it been fixed/changed.

Thanks Knight. You should get commission because SCEA just earned my 60 bucks. That was my biggest concern.

                              Oh one more thing

Do the fielders accelerate to full speed like the base runners or are they just instant full speed like last year?

I guess this is a question for nemesis .. According to your last post in the Invitees only thread you still had another entry coming:

                                On Deck: Fielding

That guy has been waiting on deck for quite some time.. Any chance that's still coming?
