I'm buying this game day one, no question, but I would love to see outfielders misplay caroms and catchers/plays-at-the-plate be more realistic.

Also, since there's dynamic weather/rain, does that mean there are rain delays/rainouts? Are there 6-inning wins for rainouts that qualify as a game played? Are there Double Headers? And for RTTS: is the record book more robust than previous years (I want recognition for hitting .400+, for example! ).

      Thanks in advance.

No rain delays, rainouts, or double headers this year.

I believe they found a small glitch regarding the third basemen sometimes having the ball pass through their glove and I'm pretty positive it was fixed for '11. So I would imagine that this is better.

What sink said is true, but also, when viewing in replay, you have to remember that they are compressed, meaning they are missing frames which will show clipping or in this case, the ball passing thru the glove which isn't happening during gameplay.

It's obviously in the Demo's section, and if you can search by name do M (I don't know if they do have the names of the Demos in name form since I haven't touched my PS3 since early mid December) if not then I know it's halfway near the list
Why did I move here? I guess it was the weather.

Re: MLB 11 The Show Community Day Discussion Thread - Questions, Answers etc.

I had a question back on page 203 that never got answered, so I will try again .

In '10 RTTS, once you finished the season and had to simulate through the off-season, unless you had a contract offer, sitting through what seemed like at least 5-7 minutes of computer simming was tiresome. Has that been addressed in '11 RTTS?

Also, There is one animation that REALLY irks me when I see it. The ball is hit to the third baseman, and even though he was already playing the foul line and could easily get in front of the ball to field it cleanly, he decides to do a backhand animation resulting in a base hit and sometimes extra bases.

Oh, another one...sorry. On a bunt, when the pitcher goes to field the ball: Sometimes he picks it up and fires it right away, it just depends on the animation. Then there are other times where he picks it up, stops his momentum, sets and then throws which results in cheap base hits, especially during online play. Have these two animations been looked at/mentioned?

If you could answer any of these it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again Russ for all the hard work.

Does anyone know if HBP will be recorded this year for pitchers? I always found it odd that this was not a stat in this game.

I believe the 3B animation has been looked at (guys, correct me if I'm wrong). I think I asked about that several weeks ago and seem to recall someone saying that you'll see 3B react more naturally to the balls hit, especially ones down the line.

I'm glad they acknowledged it as an area needing improvement, but in all honesty, until I heard it mentioned in a video tonight, I had no idea whatsoever they improved player models whatsoever. So what does that say?

Awesome. Thanks for the response DJ. Any idea on the other stuff, like fielding a bunt animations, or the long wait during RTTS off-season?

Those I'm not sure about. You can do a search in this thread and see if any of those keywords pop up. If not, one of the CD guys should be in here to answer your questions.
