Re: Robbing a home run... at Wrigley?

I play as the Cubs and have seen outfielders, on numerous occasions go through their rob home run animation on home runs. However, they have never been successful which is a good thing because it's impossible to bring a home run back in Wrigley. Has anyone seen a player rob a home run at Wrigley in MLB 10? I'm hoping that they made it so the animation is not possible at the friendly confines in MLB 11.

I have done it! I was playing an online game with my friend who is a WhiteSox fan. It was the 15th inning tied at 4-4. He lead off the 15th with a near homer and I jumped up (didn't think it would work) and somehow my glove went through the basket and caught it. My friend was very mad!

Now this only happened once. 99.9 percent of the time, this does not happen, however, I do remember this rare occasion. I am sure the clipping has been improved this year though.

saw a post a few pages back where you said there are no new options for creating/editing players

i find this a bit hard to believe because for the past couple of years there have been at least some minor tweaks here and there (sunglasses, baggy pants, etc)

but are you saying it is EXACTLY the same as 10, or just no major changes???

I didn't really delve too far in...but I'm pretty sure it's the same. I did talk with the lead artist about additions to the editor....and there will be changes in '12 next year.

Beautful pic - good to see some "Oriole-love" since I REALLY see them being an exciting team this year with their additions of Derek Lee, etc...

-they will be my American League team this year (of course Chicago will be my NL team) , but it'll be a great breath-of-fresh-air to see Camden Yards get some love (IMO one of the most BEAUTIFUL stadiums out there) ...


...btw, you can REALLY see the updated player models in this pic - the shoulders aren't squared off, and the arms hang "naturally"....

That pic is definitely from an exhibition game.
They had similar overlays for the league leader in franchise for '10....I don't know how much they expanded on it for '11. There is going to be some definite changes to overlays and info....I just don't know how much as opposed to the new ticker.

I really hope one of the main focus of next years development is the managers. We have yet to see in a SCEA the inclusion of manual arguing a call, manual ejection, etc. The small little things a manager does in a game is very important in the sport of baseball.

I remember the MVP series they had a sort of a mini-game vs. Umpire arguing a call. Press triangle would fire up the manager a lot which would eventually result in a toss and the CPU (bench coach) would manage the game for you.

Those were the days.

Also I hope they can give the other coaches (bench coach, hitting/pitching coach) more spotlight in next year's game because they impact the players.

YES!

I hope the SCEA MLB devs take a little page out of NBA/MLB 2K's book and include manager tendencies and give the users the option to tweak them and whatnot.

I apologize in advance if this has been asked before...

But do we know if custom songs after a game play a little longer this time around? It seemed kinda strange last year when my song would play for a couple of seconds and then cut out for the generic highlights music. I could have sworn back in 08 (I skipped 09) your music played through the entire highlights and game wrap-up screens. Thanks in advance.

I wonder if injury logic is fixed or something, i was playing a game today and Jeff Suppan took a liner to the face and stayed in the game. I dont know about you but that just doesnt happen haha, anyway, thats about my only gripe.

we've only been able to import music since last year's game. But i agree with you, there are certain situations for short clips (walkup music) and situations for longer clips (between innings, beginning/end of game)

Ya, knowing how long the end of game as well as between inning songs last would help out alot cause we'll know how long to make these songs when making the music packs for the sounds of the show section on here.
