Thanks 42 for posting. I am SO GLAD this got changed. Not sure why he still has heavy tar on this helmet. He uses the new style helmet and its totally clean. Did anyone else ask if they have the Phiten necklaces (as shown below) in the game or the PowerBalance wrist bands? Even generics would be cool. I see his pic doesnt have his wristbands either. He wears the long sleeve occasionally with the power balance bands over the top of his wrist bands. Im pumped regardless. This game is looking amazing.

I've got a quick question:

Does the pitcher actually turn his head around toward second base to look the baserunner back in his lead? If not, could you please ask them to do this next year?

You can edit the helmet, the pine tar and the wrist bands and sleeves in the accessories part of edit player i believe.:wink:

One other quick question, and I apologize if it's already been asked, but does the cpu hitter take any more practice swings while standing in the box and waiting for the pitcher to decide on his pitch. In past years, the cpu hitter would just stand there with his bat on his shoulder in his hitting stance -- hopefully the cpu batter will now take an extra practice swing or two, or even step out of the box, which would be awesome.

- Enigma, have you seen any differences in fielding with the elite fielders and the average fielders? I know that you said a little about speed in the outfield. I was thinking more about the infield, one thing that kind of bothered me was seeing defensive subs making ridiculous plays, sliding in the hole at short, popping up and throwing a rope over to first to get the runner by 4 or 5 steps. I get the impression that this will not happen anymore but I was just wondering what you are seeing with different fielding tiers.

To piggyback on what Pared said based on my own community event experience (for NHL11), I think he sums it quite well. You have an analytical eye while you're there, you give feedback & exchange ideas with the dev team, and if something doesn't seem right, it's a far more productive to see what can be done about it than to come here and say "_____ didn't work as it should" ASAP. Now that doesn't mean we shouldn't expect honest feedback, but it has to tempered with a realistic outlook on a work in progress and what can be done from a design standpoint in a given period of time (from '10 to '11, from now to release, save it for '12, etc).

Also, the other side of the coin is reporting new features/additions/tweaks/etc. This is one is tough, as you want to share all the new stuff and it inherently sounds positive. I know I really looked into NHL11's GM mode improvements when I was there and when I re-read my own report, it can easily give an impression of "all this new stuff... this is going to be great!" I even made a conscious effort to say things like, "we'll see how it plays out over time" or "I simply didn't have time to run a bunch of sims to test ______", but it's so easy for that to get lost in the shuffle of "look at all the new stuff!" when we're reading impressions.

In the end, we should all have a pretty good idea of how this works by now. We can trust the community guys to represent OS well while there and shoot us straight afterwards. But, we need to keep our heads and know that with a yearly release cycle, some things will need further attention, either by post-release support or for next year. But I'm confident that both our guys and SCEA will do all they can during these few days to give us the best possible product they can come March.

I will tell you that I am pretty damn excited over things that make the game 1) More accurate and 2) More fun. That's what a sports game should be about.

I love the little things as well. The next time you take too long on the mound and the CPU calls for time and steps out of the plate, you just remember that this is what the Community Event brings (in addition to more that you'll never know).

As you can see, it's such a small nuance of the game but I'm pretty excited about it. Completely immerses you... just think when you're up 3-2, runner on 1st and 2nd with two outs and you're on the mound trying to make that P-E-R-F-E-C-T pitch... and the CPU calls time because you took too long.

Ha! I love baseball.

So just to clarify, can only be 2 vs 2 max, not 3-1 or 4-0. I think you can do 2 vs the AI and you can do 2v2 online (a team of 2 must be on the same console, not 4 individual connections).

It's still the same? Even with new models it is WAYYYY off. Sorry if I seem upset, but he is the best player in baseball. Can you ask if they can fix it, because I remember in 08 the fixed rollins stance from the demo to the regular game.
