I spent a lot of time with The Show 11 and Russell at CES, impressions inside.

I know there are already threads about this but I figured I would make another one because I spent a good amount of time playing the game and talking with Russell. Russell was very nice and I was able to get a lot of info from him and play 2 games on the same team with him. He also took down ideas I had for next year and told me I might be seeing them in 12.

I didn't get a chance to read all the pages in the other threads but if any questions haven't been answered already, I will do my best to try and answer them. They have added a lot to 11 and there is no way I can remember all the things but I will go over some of the highlights that stood out to me in no particular order. There are certain things about the game I won't mention unless you guys ask about it.

New analog pitching is all kinds of awesome. I was getting the hang of it within a couple of innings.
New analog batting will take some time to adjust to. Same with the fielding.
New analog fielding actual puts most errors on you. Very welcomed addition! Even fake throws.
Being able to play on the same team is something I have wanted for years now and being able to do it finally is very cool.
Players that are played in their 2nd position take a 20% fielding hit and players playing out of their position take an 80% fielding hit so no more be able to pinch run or pinch hit for the catcher and having the non catcher catching with no ill affects at all.
You have 1 check swing with the power swing now if you are playing with button pressing.
The challenge of the week was very cool and having a chance to go to the World Series makes the mode very meaningful. They didn't have to give away any prizes but they are going to.
The RTTS changes are for the better and trophies seem more realistic and achievable.
Having weather effects like rain and watching the game get darker as time goes on is much more realistic.
Online play: You can now have your own preferences. No more having to only play with the control setup the other person has chosen. You can play however you want and they can play however they want.
When playing online, if the other guy hits you with a pitch 6 times, you automatically get the win.
When you have a guy on 1st or 3rd, you can now see his base running ability and speed. You also get to see more of your pitch hitters abilities than 10.
A ton of new options letting you play the game pretty much any way you want to. For example, when you play online, the only thing you can't use are the custom cameras. Everything else works right down to being able to have your own control and camera setup.
The new camera angles Russell created are a welcomed addition.
The 311 song Beautiful Disaster is one of the songs on the soundtrack.(I'm a 311 fan)
Feels a lot like last years version. What I mean is 09 and 10 feel a little different but 10 and 11 are very similar which is a good thing.
3-d is pretty cool and home run derby with move just shows a bat and I had to swing a tad early to hit the ball.
Some of the new subtle things like the grounds crew appearing after the 3rd inning and the new ump wiping the plate in the start up of the game really enhance the presentation. There are plenty of other things like that added in.
Franchise has gotten some updates like trade logic being improved etc.
Eric Karros adds a lot of incite and I think he like analyzes every team. Much better than Hudler.
    Plenty of other things.

Okay, ask away. I will do my very best to answer any questions you have.

Did they add any more roster spots in franchise, or is it still a 15-player single-a club?

I didn't check that part out sorry. Even Russell was having a hard time telling me all the new things for the game. There are soo many new things it was difficult to remember them all and for me to ask every question I had. I did notice that getting to minor league teams was easier so I wouldn't be surprised if they did change it.

Are any new classic stadiums included? Tiger Stadium, Candlestick?

Well the grounds crew shows up after the home team gets out in the bottom of the 3rd as an animation. I smiled every time I saw them. You don't like control them or anything but it's just another cool little thing they added.

I did not see any bat boys and yes, rain does affect the gameplay.

I did not see any fireworks as I was not able to hit a home run with the new analog controls. Like I stated before, they are going to take some getting used to.

"Grounds Crew appearing after the 3rd inning" is something i never even thought of adding but that is pretty damn cool in my mind Wonder if the grounds crew at Yankee Stadium will come out dancing to "YMCA"

No, the advertisements on the backstop. Miller Park was especially ruff.

Hey Freeztime, thanks for taking questions.

                            - I know you mentioned grounds crew between innings which is awesome, but did you notice any other stadiums ambience type things? Like jumbotron animations, ribbon board animations? Many have said that this stuff doesn't go in till late but I was just wondering if you saw any of it.

                            Thanks
