Re: MLB '11: The Show Community Day Gameplay Q&A
Ouch, I don't like this one bit. Why was the current hitting option removed? As of right now it seems as though the current hitting system has been converted to true zone hitting. Is it too late to put the old hitting system back in? Basically we could just call it classic hitting like we have with classic pitching. So we could have Analog(default), classic, true zone and timing. Please, please give us the option to hit like we always have in the past. Don't take this as an insult, i truly believe that this is the best sports game out there, and I truly apreciate all the effort that you guys put into this game.Last edited by harvey88; 01-15-2011, 06:47 PM.Comment

How was the Broadcast presentation? I understand there's more stat overlays this year, correct?
Oh, I also wanted to ask about HUM catchers throwing to 2B trying to catch a base stealer. It felt like in 10 that a lot of throws (especially ones with any kind of effort) went high, forcing your SS/2B to jump to catch the ball ... did you guys notice if the throws were more on-line this year?Currently Playing:

As a timing-only guy, I like the changes that have been made and I'm sure I'll try all 3 options out.Currently Playing:

Hehe no I don't think I'm that obsessive. Maybe next year I'll ask for an option for the offset to flip between right and left handed batters or something like that.Comment

I still want the challenge of trying to place my PCI but not being punished with missing the ball everytime my PCI is not in the area of the ball. I loved the current system (one that has been in the game forever). Usually if the PCI was in the wrong spot (not somewhere on the ball) you would sometimes miss the ball, but other times would just get a weak hit ect.. This was a great hitting system and I don't get the rational of why it was removed? Could it not have been kept in as an option (classic hitting)?Comment

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

So if you want to play like you have, you choose timing only.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

You, sir, are an animal! It's greatly appreciated!
There is room to play so to speak once you get your stride timing down. The contact swing helps a lot in those situations you mentioned. Pitch location is extremely important especially if you are on the higher difficulty levels. You can still have perfect timing and miss the ball because your PCI was not in the correct location. Very challenging and a lot of fun! I thought the mechanic was extremely balanced for a first time effort by SCEA!Comment

If I understand correctly, we were all virtually playing 'timing only' the past few years. I'm looking forward to the different options.Comment
