Previews of Top 10 at each position?
I'm just curious if there will be the series of previews with the Top 10 players of each position like there's been in the last two years. Personally I've really enjoyed them not to mention they show good glimpses of players with new/improved stances.Tags: None -
Re: Previews of Top 10 at each position?
Yeah, MLB network has been doing this lately and it's great (top ten right now!). This is one of the better previews into changes with stances and player models with the SHOW.Greatest Braves Pitcher of All Time

MLB Network is doing the top 10 in each position on MLB 2011: The Show? Or are they doing the top 10 best players at each position in real life?Comment

Re: Previews of Top 10 at each position?
Sorry, was referencing what MLB Network was doing, and how nice it is to get the same "comparison" with the top players in each position that the Show does. Sorry if that came across wrong! Although that would be cool to see too!!!!

It's cool. For the past two years (I think, maybe more) Russell has been posting the top 10 of each position (Catcher, 1st base, 2nd base, Short, 3rd, Outfield, Starting Pitcher, and Relivers) for the upcoming game, with several screenshots of them and their ratings.Comment

I enjoy this too, except I wish we could see the list and images sooner, rather than right before release! Like maybe we could see them early FEB instead of late.Comment

Yep. I bet Adrian will be top 3 in 1B and no one will complain about it (when two years ago everyone complained about it).
I really can't wait to see them.Comment

I like this thread a lot, so I thought I would add a little challenge. Anyone want to guess the top ten for each position? Then we can see how right or wrong you were. Any takers?Comment

Would be pretty hard actually, but I'd definitely take a stab at a top 5 guess.Comment

Those are my picks. 2B and SS are really hard to rate after you get past the top players for both positions.
NOTE: Players with the same overall grade rating can be interchanged in the list with players with similar overall grade ratings. Meaning Tim Lincecum can be 1 or 3 depending on which order they are listed. At this point it's difficult to tell who's better than who ratings-wise.
EDIT II: Rosters are as of 1/1/2011.Comment

Re: Previews of Top 10 at each position?
Well I'll try with Catchers:
1 Joe Mauer -Kinda obvious, can't hate on the coverboy lol
2 Brian McCann -really underated C
3 Buster Posey -came on to the scene in playoffs, seems very ligit
4 Victor Martinez -great bat, i'll count him here even though DET will move him to DH
5 Jorge Posada -even though he'll be DH, still will put him on list
6 Yadiar Molina -insane glove, decent bat
7 Matt Wieters- even with bad year, still young and high expectations
8 A.J. Pierzynski -constantly high batting average, good fielding
9 Mike Napoli -good hitting for a Catcher, but bad fielding
10 Kurt Suzuki -very underated, good young catcher
6-10 really close, so you can really change all of them with eachotherMLB: Seattle Mariners
NFL: Seattle Seahawks
NCAA: Washington State CougarsComment

Re: Previews of Top 10 at each position?
I'm wondering how much Cliff Lee's attributes are going to increase this year. Since they base the ratings on the last three years and they've been the best three years of his career and to me, he's been rated a little low. He's been arguably the best lefty in the game. I think he'll be in the top five this year.
Moving on to the actual topic, I'll throw my top 3 in because i don't feel like listing ninty players.
