Ah that analysis screen looks so much better/cleaner than previous years. Love it.

I live in Europe so the demo dropped here in the night so I have to sit through this whole day of work reading all the impressions!

Unless it's the same with timing only, in that the PCI will be way off if your timing is off. Just looking for some clarification.
The PCI still needs to move it is just being done under the hood for you. Player ratings, pitch location, type and timing will all factor into this result. With the timing only option your timing window will also decrease in size as you move up in difficulty.

You won't see much differentiation in speed but you will notice differences in the effort put behind pitches in how they break (less or more) based on your input.

I would not be surprised if next year we see a visual indicator on speed input.

So the harder I throw, the more break I have?

The more effort you put into the pitch the sharper the break and vice-versa.

The Best New Additions To The Show (Wacky PCI Movement Explained

                      -PCI Movement Based On Timing:
For those of you who played baseball might remember the term 'rolling your hands over the top of the ball,' which means, due to an early swing, the batter has rolled his wrists over the top of the bat. Weak grounders are the dominant result of this early swing. This is also due to the bat's motion back upward toward the hitter's front shoulder, another cause of the weak grounder.

                      An Example:
I placed the PCI at the bottom of the zone trying to get under the ball. Lincecum threw a changeup and I swung very early and grounded out. I looked at my swing analysis and the PCI was at the top of the zone. At first I thought this was a bug, as many here believe.

                      -The PCI Actually Matters
Last year's title was a headache, for me as a hitter, since the calculations involving contact were largely based on God-knows-what, but it wasn't the PCI. Now you actually have to place it correctly. This improvement is one of a few that put this game over the top of the ASB series IMO.

                      -ANALOG
Human error is the name of the game in baseball. Before I saw the first pitch I set all diff lvs to HOF and made sure Pure Analog was on and I never looked back from there. From now on, mistakes such as leaving a pitch over the plate, throwing over the 1B's head, rolling your hands over the ball and grounding out to 3rd/SS, and so much more now lies in the hands of the player instead of the computer!!!!

All I can say is I hope ranked online games require the use of pure analog. Otherwise, SCEA is putting everyone who uses it online at a disadvantage.

                      -New Cameras!!!
I'm working with a new hitting view that is low enough to differentiate between a low strike and a ball in the dirt. This was one of the most frustrating aspects of batting last year, and with my new camera setting, I'm seeing so many more pitches. Easily one of the best additions, which was a huge surprise to me. Unbelievable.

Bottom Line: This game (on HOF) is HARD. As an ASB Legend-Mode Player, this is exactly what I was looking for!

How do you hit a low and inside pitch with analog? Pulling back and pushing up would seem counter-intuitive to get a low pitch, no?

can you still use the R stick to tell your runners which base to go to?

I really liked being able to cue my runners this way instead of the bumpers L1 R1. It doesn't seem to be working in the demo for me though. Has this been removed? thanks

I did not know where to put this question so please move it if there is a better place. But in rtts does your money matter? Can you buy new gloves, bats or attributes with the money you make?

I agree with that, except the leaving the pitch over the plate part.

I'm using full analog, I select to throw Tim Lincecum's fastball down and low. So I pull back and I hit the exact spot on the meter. Where does the ball end up? Letter high, right over the middle. If this was once every 3-5 pitches then okay w.e. However, this is happening every 3rd pitch and not just fastballs...When I try to throw my Change or Slider or sometimes Curve it hangs even though I tell him to throw it low.

AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG BECAUSE THIS HAS ALWAYS BOTHERED ME. The only way I knew to correct this in previous The Show games is by using the meter pitching but that's too easy as I NEVER walk anybody.
