How do you attempt a pickoff? Tried the old way of L2+O and didn't seem to work.

not playing now, so just a guess...

if you're using analog, how about hold L2 and flick the analog stick left? right?

Didn't seem to work as well. Might have to try again tomorrow.

hmm, i threw a pickoff earlier so its possible

perhaps try L2+square (if you're playing from behind the pitcher)

Does the "influence swing" exist anymore in 11? Pressing up on the analog stick before an at-bat seems to only trigger the practice swing.

So....if a man wants to hit a sac fly, is the new strategy just to get under the pitch? (Obviously this is more realistic, I'm just trying to figure out the analog controls.)

I didn't even think about that when I was playing.. maybe it's on the left stick now.

It does still exist but at the moment I forgot the command. It involves a shoulder button plus the stick as well.

To the guy with slow downloading speed, cancel it and then restart it. I started mine at 6 also and when i got home from practice at 9 it was 20%..restarted it only took an hour

**EDIT: Can a dev or someone with knowledge on the game please comment on whether we need to start the stride earlier with a guy like buster posey that has a high leg kick?**

Alright, here's a question probably only the SCEA guys or maybe the CD guys can answer -

There's a new item in the Pitcher/Batter analysis situations called "Label Hitchance" - any explanation as to what this is? It appears to only mark the chart when the bat is swung (contact or no), but I can't really figure out what the number means - and sometimes there's an "X" instead, usually on foul balls. I'll try to get a good at-bat going so I can snap a pic of the analysis screen.

R2 for swing influence and guess pitch. What I like to do is initiate a practice swing by pressing up on the right analog stick. During the animation hold R2 and point the R-Stick in the direction you want to influence. You will feel a slight rumble letting you know its done correctly

Thanks Ramone, knew it was a shoulder button but forgot which one, lol.

Couple questions. First off, with the PCI.

Does it lock in when the pitch is thrown? or can it still be moved around while the pitch is in the air?

2nd, When playing against another user and using analog pitching, the ball does not move whether I have to pitch slightly to the left or right. Does this mean that I go straight up and down or do I have to still push up slightly in the direction that I am throwing it?

If you are using the X swing method the PCI locks as soon as you swing.

In a 2 player game you still need to move the right stick in the direction of where you placed the ball. It is challenging because there is no visual indicator.
