Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
Not a big deal, but all the shots of Target Field so far have had like no fans in the stadium...
I kinda hope they can fix this because every game at Target field will be sold out again no matter who they play....Comment

You sure they were shots during a game? When they show pregame shots of the players warming up, talking, etc there are not supposed to be many fans there yet...Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
Played a couple of games. One as the Rangers and one as the Giants.
So this is coming from a Show 2009 player. I skipped 2010.
The new controls are very cool for pitching and analog throwing is also real smooth. I don't like the analog hitting.
I absolutely love the broadcast camera angles. I am really impressed with all the new animations and the level of crisp detail the 2011 demo has in comparison with 2009.
I guess what I am going back and forth on is this:
I will be using classic pitching, and zone button hitting as I love it and don't feel the need to change to the analog controls. I will continue to use auto fielding and base running. So visually it is a feast and of course the most up to date rosters etc. But knowing these factors should I get 2010 for 20 bucks or drop the 60 on 2011. Money is not an issue.
I do see the upgrade big time from 2009 but I am getting mixed reactions if this is 2010 with just new controls and updated rosters.
Overall the game is great. And I expected nothing less as I have loved playing 2009 for 2 years now. Baseball is my favorite sport and The Show is hands down the best Baseball game ever and right there with NBA2K11 as the best sports game period.
Great job again SCEA.Now Playing on PS5:

They should switch the Twins and the Marlins crowds around because SunLife is packed full!

Honestly, if money isn't an issue, I would go with 11. Even if you take away the Analog controls, there's enough additions here that would warrant a purchase. Plus, I would bet that the online servers for MLB 10 will be shut down in a couple of weeks, which means you won't have access to the Roster Vault.
With 11, you have more options at your disposal. You say you won't be using Analog but who knows, perhaps after a few months you will switch to them to change things up? It's nice to have that option.Currently Playing:

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
Pure analog is the only reason why I bought the game this year. I feel that this is feature alone is worth the 60 bucks
The game without it would be close to the same. If I was to put the disc in the cover of 10 and turned off analog, you would think you are playing 10 in terms of gameplay. Sure the lighting is nicer but to me a game can only be fun when the gameplay is great and challenging.
The analog hitting and pitching works masterfully and makes you feel like you are playing instead of hitting a button or letting the cpu pitch for you based on just classic pitching. I like to feel that the ratings and my self are involved in the gameComment

Each fielder feels way different from scrub to elite to feel just like 10, IMO.
I agree about analog controls. They did a remarkable job with them.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

I did find the pitching very very cool and I can see maybe going in that direction. Hitting not so much.
The only thing I have never adapted to (from being a MVP 2005 vet) is The Shows Base running and fielding controls. Just has never felt as tight. It's good but I find watching the players play it themselves makes for an amazing visual feast.
It is just a different way of playing. Now Playing on PS5:

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
i was curious...i was playing the demo on my 55 inch hdtv in my living room and everything was crystal clear. i took my ps3 up to my room with a 32 inch hdtv and everything is pretty clear, but for guys with baggy pants, the bottoms of the pants look kind of digitally distorted. anybody know how to remedy this or facing this situation? it kinda bugs me lolComment

This is why I want this game now so badly. The Broadcast camera is just amazing. I was blown away how smooth and realistic this game plays and looks with this camera option. Now Playing on PS5:
