Sorry for the back-to-back posts, but this one's totally unrelated to the one above:

For you guys that perenially have trouble walking in this series, read this, and then read it again - the CPU is watching your hitting tendencies when it pitches to you, and tries to beat you accordingly:

How do you adjust your Infielders & Outfielders? I would like to pull in my Infielders and Outfielders at times? I can't seem to figure it out

Isn't that something you do with the d-pad?
And if I'm not mistaken, isn't the d-pad unavailable in the demo?

          Yup.

You cannot make any adjustments to your team in the demo. They will, however, move themselves at points. For example, the Rangers had the bases loaded with no outs, and the infield came in.

With your current problem, make sure you are not playing on zone or timing because with zone you DO use the left analog stick to target while pressing "x" to swing..
I am using Analog for hitting, left stick should not have to track the ball. I will see what happens when the game is released.

I'm using zone hitting and know that square is the power swing, while circle is a contact swing. So what exactly is X? I've always used X for swinging and thought that was contact, but circle is listed as the contact swing.

Maybe this was in last year's game, but I was messing around with the controls and realized that when you're hitting, pressing down on the D-Pad will cause the hitter to step out of the box. I doubt I'd use it much, but it's a cool feature.

I think X is "normal" as being in between power and contact.

X is "normal" swing. The "contact" swing is new this year.

Yeah, pressing down on the D-Pad will call time out when you're at the plate, that's also new this year. It is a cool addition.

Are you still able to throw a pitch harder/softer?

What I did in MLB10TheShow was I would throw a full power pitch in pitchers counts, and focus more on accuracy during hitting counts. Has this level of strategy been given the boot to make way for next generation controls?

Yes. With analog controls, how fast you push up or how slow you push up on the analog stick determines the pitch speed and effectiveness.

contact swing is another thing I am lovin' in the demo this year.

Still in the lab seeing if theres enough to warrant a purchase.

Has anyone hit a homerun using contact swing?

I was INCHES away from one with Hamilton last night. Honestly, if the wind weren't blowing in at 18 mph, I'm positive I would have had one...

The ball tailed foul at the last second on the foul side of the left field wall, and landed around 3 rows deep.

I did get that tailing foul cut-scene though...are those canned by any chance? I was under the impression that they weren't, but under the circumstances of that ball, I have to wonder whether or not if under the same circumstances with 18 mph blowing to right, if a homer could have happend in that scenario.

I was able to hit 2. Both with Kinsler.
I a determined to hit one over the right field wall with that wind locked at 18mph coming in from right.
That or get a double down the first base line.

Anyways, I had a semi slow chopper hit back to the pitcher, he fields it, takes to steps, pumps in his glove then throws the ball to 2nd to start the DP. Problem is he took so much time that every was safe. Is that something that will be fixed in the full game? It has been like that for the past 2 years that I know of at least and its not just with pitchers, a lot of position players have no sense of urgency when making plays. I wish I could take a video, but I dont know how.

As for a Q&A thread, they frequent the boards enough that they probably already saw your post.

With contact swing (circle...not power or regular you're saying)?
