Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
For fans of the World Champs [or anyone else for that matter], is the music that plays when the Giants score in the demo as well as the chant, representative of real life?
if so, thats pretty cool.
I remember reading somewhere that the PC Richards whistle which plays for Yankee K's is in there in a slightly altered form.Comment

What's the deal with balks, are they just off in the demo?
I'm balking my balls off, and I can't make one happen. I want to see quick pitchers suffer this year online so just curious.
(PS, forgive meeeee for not reading this whole thread since I'm sure this has been asked).I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). I write it, and it hits your inbox every Friday morning (for freeeeeee). We also have an official OS Discord you can now join.Comment

You have to turn it on first. Go to game play options. Also I have it on and I still get no balks. Do the CPU Balk? What's the deal with balks, are they just off in the demo?

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
balks are intended for 2-player games only this year...
turning them on against the computer would give you a disadvantage as the CPU cannot balk (next year...

No I think he meant he wishes the contact swing could be done on the fly. For example, when you pre-pitch have loaded up a power or normal swing, but when the pitch comes you realize it's something you can't really handle or do much with, but you still want to foul it off with a contact swing.
In real life as a hitter that would happen (a 'defensive' swing that isn't planned before the pitch comes, but happens once you react to the pitch). In the game unfortunately it's not possible.Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
I have the same question. I have very noticeable jagged lines when I play. The shoe graphics, the edges of the players, lines throughout the stadium, team logos, etc are all jagged. Even the lettering in the pause menu is jagged. It doesn't look anywhere near as smooth as the game play videos online. I'm guessing that for demo purposes, it is compressed so it doesn't take up more space than it already does?Comment

Demo, Older build. Not all the graphical bells and whistles are turned on like in final.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
I don't know a lot about pitching IRL so i'm trying to figure out where in the pitching meter i'm going wrong. A lot of pitches go too high. I know my pitcher will miss sometimes but my pitches don't go low they go high.
Am i pushing up a bit too early or am i pushing up too hard. I'm also having trouble trying to hit my spots with the RS but that will get better with practice. Its the pitches going high which is my main concern as often my slider has been crushed lol. Always that slider. I am literally afraid of Wilsons slider cause its bad luck.Comment

Most likely you're pressing up too early. Try letting the ball sink just below the line before you begin the upward gesture. I've had the same problem when I got a little impatient and pushed up too early.I don't know a lot about pitching IRL so i'm trying to figure out where in the pitching meter i'm going wrong.
