Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
I have played six or seven games so far and finally hit two with Cody Ross in my last game. Both when swinging with X, no power swing.Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
This question is for russell, speaking of that, where is our QA for devs to answer our questions. since "hey dev" threads are banned we need a place to get questions answered.
Anyways, I had a semi slow chopper hit back to the pitcher, he fields it, takes to steps, pumps in his glove then throws the ball to 2nd to start the DP. Problem is he took so much time that every was safe. Is that something that will be fixed in the full game? It has been like that for the past 2 years that I know of at least and its not just with pitchers, a lot of position players have no sense of urgency when making plays. I wish I could take a video, but I dont know how.Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
Not sure if this was posted before:
Analog hitting is left on the default after loading game. I think it is All-star. Do I have to move the left stick to position where the ball is going to be? I noticed if I do not move the left stick most of the time the PCI doesn't line up with the ball, I see this mostly on curverballs or sliders. Other times even if the PCI is on the ball, I get perfect for timing but just missed on hitting. Can somebody explain the differences in hitting?Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
Analog hitting you DO NOT use the LEFT analog stick. You pull back on the right analog stick to time ur pitch then you thrust it forward to swing. Pushing the right analog forward and to the right for the right side of the plate, left for left and straight for up the middle. Not sure if this was posted before:

The PCI should compensate for up and down in the strike zone.FTP=PTFComment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
If that is the case then there is something wrong with All-star, most of the time the PCI is nowhere near where the ball end up. This could be why people are complaining about not being able to hit with analog controls.Analog hitting you DO NOT use the LEFT analog stick. Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
Yes most people have been speculating that the PCI in the demo is a lil on the weird side but it is a DEMO.. They are always early-mid process builds from the developers..
With your current problem, make sure you are not playing on zone or timing because with zone you DO use the left analog stick to target while pressing "x" to swing..FTP=PTFComment

When he said "isnt turned on," he means that it doesnt have all the extra package stuff.
The demo is a watered down version ,graphics wise and everything because the game on release date has been through a more rigorous test process and build up.FTP=PTFComment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
Wondering if anyone is experiencing the same thing as me- I have thrown out A LOT of baserunners at the plate and third base. I've been playing with All Star and HOF fielding, just getting a feel of all the options over the last few nights (I am enjoying the analog controls and the demo very much!).
I'd say it's because of a particular fielder's rating, but I have done this with SF and Texas' right fielders, and one of the team's CF (can't remember which one) Rough estimate- 7-8 outfielder assists in about 20 4-inning games (1 extra inning game). I don't know, that seems like a lot- I know I'll be able to treat this with sliders with the retail version, but was just curious if others were experiencing this. I know it's not my fielding prowess. Either all my OF's throw bullets, or the AI's third base coach is extremely aggessive in the demo.Comment
