I have no idea why the game is slow to simulate through the offseason. My guess is because it has to account for all the transactions that are taking place during the offseason.

And no you cannot create a team

no. DLC is tied into the account that purchased them, not the PS3.

outside of becoming familar with your players, there is no benefit to playing ST games. Players will not get better.

And yes the cpu plays a ST as you would expect. Subbing players and making routine pitching changes.

That stinks...on games like NHL 11, any boosts I purchased were available to share with my 2nd account.

You can try it, but I don't believe it will work.

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Q&A Thread

Wondering if anyone else has noticed that the computer pitchers throw a fairly good ratio of balls and strikes, but the balls that they throw barely miss. Almost every ball I see the computer throw is so close to the plate that it could be called a ball or a stirke.

Anyone know what to adjust to make the computer throw the balls a little more off the plate? Not sure if I should adjust pitching control or command? I hate slider adjustments, and have never made any in the past, but I might just for this issue. Any help would be great!

He is in your MLB 11 folder. Same place your downloaded rosters are located.

Yes. But you need to set this up in your online settings beforehand. Once you get into a game there is no option to change your "hitting" settings.

Any tips at all about getting that PCI more square, or is it something I shouldn't worry too much about?
I know I am not answering your question but you just alerted me as to why the PCI always ends up weird even though I never use my left stick when batting. I use full analog & assumed that the PCI never moved. Thanks for that info.

Actually it was that way in MLB 10 too. Some people complained though that it was hard to see the difference in colors. It definitely is not as clearly defined in 10 as it was in 09 but it was there.

Yes, it is also there in MLB 11. Though it is still lacking clear definition difference in coloring just as in MLB 10.

Why it has changed since '10 I have no idea.
One of the developers mentioned last year that it was a bug that some type of film coating type of thing was used that caused this distortion. I forget all the details now, but supposedly they had found out what was wrong & were going to fix it. Obviously they not only didn't do so, but they let it carry over to this years game too.

Me: If I remember correctly, the P stands for player & the S for system. Meaning that if a person has a particular setting that has a P, it will apply only for that player's settings. (I am referring to a person playing the game, not an in-game player) The S will apply that particular setting for all who play on that PS3.

(in co-op games the settings that have a P default to the first person's settings)

Interesting, I never heard that but that's indeed exactly what it looks like.

Another good example where this "some type of film coating type of thing" is apparent is when viewing the hot & cold zones in the select menu.

It really became a pet peeve of mine in '10 but I was confident it would be fixed in '11

While it's probably not high on their to fix list I hope when seeing more people complain about it they'll look into it. It's such a small but important and usefull thing in the game!

Definitely have noticed that. I believe if you drop pitcher control and pitcher consistency you will help with that. I have zeroed those all out and also zeroed out CPU strike rate and find I have more realistic ball/strike ratios and also have the pitcher actually miss off the plate from time to time and not constantly painting.

You can zero these out and still have realistic results - control pitchers will still be around the plate and throwing mostly strikes, but wild guys will actually possibly be wild.
