My inability to hit home runs my first season in AA has finally been noticed by my manager. I got a advancement goal to hit a HR in the next 3 weeks. I don't see why I would hit one the next 3 weeks when I haven't hit one the past 2 months

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Are the velocity ratings for rtts the same as they are for create-a-player?
For example if a rating of 80= 93mph for a 2-seam in create a player, will it also be that for rtts?
Also does arm strength factor into velocity at all?Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Just started my first RTTS player this morning named Wally West. He's a contact hitter with tons of speed and an awesome glove at SS/CF. Only played in about 4 games, but is a little over .300 with 1-2 RBI and just got a starting position because of an injury. Did a lot of batting practice before to get down the analog controls, but I love them now that I know how to use them.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
I have an 18 yr old 2B finishing up August in about 15 more games, went the whole season without a single Home Run and in a 2 week stretch in July I hit 6 total. I am sitting at 10 right now and feel that's pretty good considering my player only has about 30 power against both handedness.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Does anyone else use "Result Play" to play their RTTS games? Personally I love it - I get to basically watch the whole game play out while controlling my player. For those unaware, it works in sort of a condensed-game format - you only see the last pitch of each at-bat (unless you're pitching, catching, batting, or running the bases). Probably takes around a half hour for me to play a full game like this.
Why play it like this instead of classic? For me, a big part of fielding is the uncertainty of whether or not the ball will find your fielder. With result play on, you won't get any tipoff that the ball is coming at you (since you play every AB), and thus have to be ready for every single ball put into play.
There are even more hardcore options for watching all pitches while you're fielding, or even EVERY SINGLE PITCH of the game. That's a bit much even for me though, as I like to get more than a single game in in one session.Result play strikes a nice balance between all of them.
There is one superficial bug involved with this setting though - pitch count doesn't track correctly. It's superficial because it doesn't affect stamina - it still decreases as normal even though the count is wrong. And manager decisions don't seem to be affected by it either - I see plenty of relievers in the late innings.Last edited by bcruise; 03-10-2011, 05:47 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
You have GOT to be kidding me...
Had my first chance to play as my new 3rd baseman for the AA Braves tonight. Got my first appearance as an outfielder for their 4th game of the season. First at-bat hit a nice RBI single. Second at-bat I get injured trying to make 1st base as the defense make an error, and I'm out for three months plus!
One game. One lousy game! Roll on JulyComment

Doing a starting pitcher and it was a no brainer to use Strasburg's pitching motion. It's so fluid and easy to time.Comment

Oh man, I changed the sliders a little (raised power 2, timing once, cpu control -1) and I just hit for the cycle (2 HR, 3B, 2B, 1B, 8 RBI) including a grand slam in the 9thKemp for NL MVP

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
I like the mode too. Besides the "surprise" factor in fielding, the mode makes it feel like I'm part of the team. I get to learn how my teammates play, what kind of players play against us, etc. Feels just like when I was playing the ball myself.
For time concerns, I tend to use the mode only occasionally though. For all star and playoff games, I use it to share the excitement with my teammates.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Started out the season w/Double A NW Arkansas (Kansas City). By the end of the first month of the season, I was traded to Oakland for Gio Gonzalez. Now I'm doing dirty work for Midland...and have knocked in 9 RBI while improving my BA to .321. I'm still struggling drawing walks...but if I see a pitch in the zone, I'm going after it.Last edited by PlottyDawg; 03-10-2011, 07:55 PM.In the deed came the glory; in the glory came the champions.Comment
