Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread

I have four different ones going at the moment, but my 2B in the Mariners org (at AAA) is getting screwed. Halfway through 2012 he's maxed speed and all batting stats (fielding sucks of course) and is destroying AAA. I'm hitting near .400 with over 30 homers 100rbi and 50stl. SEA traded Dustin Ackley and Ichiro for Moustakis Frenchy and Trevor Cahill. That left only Adam Kennedy, who is currently on the DL with a broken arm for 2 mos. I keep getting told they can't open a spot for me on the 40 man roster but they did just that for the AAA LF when Kennedy went down. The LF is good and is lighting it up in the MLB right now, but it's getting frustrating.

I am not going to ask for a trade because somehow Seattle ended up with Venters and Kimbrel along with Felix, Cahill and Pineda. If they keep those guys along with the LF Woods and myself I'm looking at a WS as soon as I get there. Just hoping that I can hit a few out of Safeco soon. Just hit my first ever 500 foot homer (for any MLB Show game), dude is ready for the show!

      How old is your guy?

I lucked out with my 2b player, he got drafted to the padres and brought up in August of his first season and has stayed there the whole time pretty much (briefly was at AAA the next season after starting in the bigs). I can't seem to get traded though.

He's 19. I just signed a 6yr 6mil contract @ end of 1st season because they had let a couple of guys go because they couldn't pay them. I figured I'd give them a discount for a couple of years but when that 6th year is over they gonna PAY.

They have me on lockdown, they just need to quit worrying about the success of the AAA team.

Dang 19 and you already have maxed hitting and speed skils....whoa better test him for HGH lol :P

Sept callup will probably happen and you will take the spot I am sure. Hopefully you can get in during spring training and have a shot at ROY unlike a lot of other guys.

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread

No call up my 1st two years. Was invited to Spring Training for 2013 and beat out Adam Kennedy. Through the first month I'm hitting ~.400 with 11hr 11stl 33rbi 10bb. Of my 10 walks half are intentional, they pitch around me so they can instead pitch to Mike Stanton.

On a side not somehow Seattle ended up with Stanton and Jay Bruce. On an even weirder note Bruce is the leadoff guy. Oh well. the 1st five are:

            Bruce
            Good generated rookie 1B
            Good generated rookie LF
            My guy (Jack Wyatt)
            Stanton

Even better is there is a really good catcher and SS @ AAA better than what the MLB team has. I hope SEA doesn't let them go like a 3B that was in the organization for a short time. Philly signed him (some guy named Hood) as a FA and he won the NL ROY for 2012. Add the fact the somehow Kimbrel and Venters are on the team, I'm smelling WS.

BTW, the way I maxed my guys hitting out so quickly was working on power 1st, then contact. I worked the count as much as possible go get the extra points involved. After that it was a breeze getting the points needed to max out speed. When I created him I maxed the sliders towards strength power and arm.

After going nuts the first month, huge slump in the 2nd. Seeing a lot of 3-2 breaking pitches and back door sliders/2 seamers. Struck out 10 times 1st month, 34 with 2 games left in May. Highlight is I already have 30 steals and 25 homers to go along wiht 20 walks and 55 RBI's.

Ok, I think I am out of the slump. Average hovering around .370 mark a week before the All Star game. Also have 40 homers, 50stl, 82rbi. Got walks up to 40 and have only struck out ten times since last post, leaving me at about 60 for the season so far.

That is one heck of a season so far. I just completed year 3 in the bigs (4th season overall) with a slash line that was .329/51/128 after going .351/43/138 the season before. I was really happy with my stats considering I was slumping hardcore the first two months only hitting .240 with 9 hr's and 23rbi. I only have power, vision, and durability maxed with contact at 91 and most everything else in the 80's other than arm and arm accuracy in the 60's....2nd baseman for Padres at the moment. We are in round one of the playoffs against Philly tied up 1-1. I am hitting ~.800 in the playoffs with 2 dingers.

                        Dang, way to go.

I am at the end of July. I hit an insane hot streak, (estimate) hitting .400 for the month with 12 homers, 30+ rbi's and a 20 game hit streak in the month. For the season I'm hitting .383 with 52 homers 125 rbi's with 50bb and 75 so's along with 118 runs. Hit my longest ever homer to get to 50-50, which is below.

I finally got to where i was recognizing pitches well, so well I had to up pitch speed from four to five - I figured if I was pulling 97mph heaters foul it's time to up it some, lol. Thankfully, after that horrid month of may (35 so's) I have only struck out about 40 times the whole rest of the year. Still get caught by the 3-2 change or a back door curve/slider/2 seamer, but hey, that's baseball - shoulda been swinging.

I may be off, but I think these were 460 and 470 ft homers

And for some sick and twisted reason this is my favorite - you gotta love MLB 11 the Show. I get robbed of a grand slam.

im sure you can buy extra points via ps store, but ther's no need to. its better just earning them while playing the game

The only reason to buy points would be if you want to start out as a major league level stud, otherwise the minors is a lot of fun and makes the call up to the show that much more satisfying.
