Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition

Couple trades happened in my franchise. Trade 1:

    Reds send:
    2B Brandon Phillips

    To

    Rockies:
For SP Kyle Matelek (20 yr old, A pot)

Nice move for the Rockies, adding a star to talent laden lineup. The Reds, who are 20 games under .500 add a young arm and rid themselves of Phillips, who probably wouldve walked anyway as this was his contract year.

    Trade 2, UPHELD.

    Indians send:
    SP Mitch Talbot
    INF Orlando Cabrera

    To

    Cubs:
    For RP Kerry Wood

Had to object, the Indians are 3.5 back and Talbot is their best starter. Carmona & Masterson both have poor records and beefy ERAs. Talbot is 7-2 with an ERA under 3. Why trade him and a versatile infielder for a reliever? No dice on this one.

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition

I'm the Cubs and am looking to get a young "Franchise" 1B to build around. Some names I'm thinking of is Billy Butler and Lars Anderson. Obviously I targeted those two because in Butler's case, Eric Hosmer is awaiting his time and for Anderson, Adrian Gonzalez has the spot locked down for a good ten years.

Now I'm not the one that will try to rip off the CPU, as I know it is possible (just doesn't seem right). If I end up trading with the Royals, Carlos Pena almost will certainly will be included in the deal, mainly because his contract runs out at the end of the year, and if Hosmer struggles, KC has a reliable option. An OF and pitching prospect would go along with Pena to KC. But obviously for Boston, they wouldn't necessarily need Pena considering their team is stacked as it is. So I was thinking about giving up Tyler Colvin for Lars and some pitching.

How do those sound? I'm not aggressively trying to trade for a 1B at the moment (I'm in mid May right now), so I'll consider all options.

I'm in the same situation as the above poster lol. Poor ole Freddie Freeman is just straight swinging at air in my Braves franchise. I've given em thru May and hes still batting .172 with 5 homers and 14 RBI's.

I really would hate to trade him off but he is the one gaping hole in my lineup right now. I'm currently in 3rd place in the NL East and only like 4 games back.

If I trade him I'd be looking to replace him with a similar prospect (though I won't be giving up the likes of Teheran or Delgado in the deal).

        Any ideas?

I actually had the Braves offer me Freeman and two others for Gregerson and Ludwick. I would have accepted had I not already have two first baseman in waiting.

You can trade free agents u signed later in the season. i simmed/played half a season and signed Bengie Molina to a 1 year contract. in july my team was 10 games out of wildcard and traded him to the brewers who needed cather help as lucroy wasnt hitting good for them.

I think Boston would trade Anderson for Colvin in a heartbeat. If you're looking to grab pitching also...i'm not sure they would give up a ton extra but maybe a B prospect.

Just starting 2015 season and contemplating this trade:

2 time Cy Young winner Brett Anderson to Chicago
                  for
The centerpiece 19 Year old A potential 1B Pasquale Guevara, 24 year old B potential CP Derrek Leach, and 23 year old lefty RP Robert Ly

Chicago has Logan Morrison starting at 1st, followed by another 1B prospect not quite as good as Guevara. Guevara reminds me of Frank Thomas. I might even change his name to Frank Thomas Jr. Brett Anderson is probably the best lefty in the game and in the final year of his contract so I would rather get 3 good prospects than 2 draft picks. Plus I am in the same boat with Bailey, so Leach could be one of the future closer options. Ly would replace Kilby, who I lost to the Yankees.

Picked up milton bradley of the FA for my bench and he is hitting lights out better than the rest of my team!

I'm trying to trade for Brett Anderson of Oak to set up my 1-2 pinch with kershaw

What would be a fair package to send?

Anderson is coming from a bad season of 5-13 with a ERA of 5.23

Currently 4-0 ERA of 2.22 TEX and angels dominating the west

Also who is a 3rd baseman that could get dealt

I did notice Ben Sheets was placed on trade waivers in August, so maybe in July/August the other teams would show more interest. He retired in the offseason though, along with Ichiro and Mariano Rivera.

I'm thinking about going after Michael Young on the Rangers in my Cubs Franchise. Do you think a Marlon Byrd & Blake Dewitt/Darwin Barney trade would be fair or should I throw in a prospect too? I don't like Byrd, never have and he is sitting on the bench because he can't hit to save his life!

No. Texas already had Byrd once, why would they want him again? Texas doesn't need another 2B, Kinsler is an All-Star 2B.

Way to rip off the Rangers, CJ is coming off a great season and Maholm numbers are horrible.

Alrite, I think i can do this trade but I want to hear what you think. I'm in a fantasy draft franchise. My infield is Brent Morrel, Yunel Escobar (Asdrubal Cabera will be back in a few days), Ryan Roberts (Have Dustin Ackley), and Prince Fielder and Ryan Howard. Here's my trade I might make.

                                Red Sox get:
                                Troy Tulo

                                D-Backs get:
                                Car-Go
                                Escobar

Morell is not hitting at all while Roberts is killing the ball. Once Cabrera comes back, I can move either Cabrera or Tulo to 3B and fill that hole. In the OF, I would replace Car-Go with Tyler Colvin. I have right now a very left handed hitting lineup and could defiantly use a right handed power. Also, Car-Go is struggling after starting off hot. What do you think?
