Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
Well Jose Reyes just got traded in my franchise. The poor Mets are awful, last place and 18 games out so they went ahead and traded him to the Cards for 3 minor leaguers. Two A potential prospects (CF, SP) and a C potential reliever.
Cards are right in the thick of a pennant race and aren't getting much from Theriot so I let it go through. Now someone has to go to the bench though, probably Theriot.
Anyway the season is starting to get exciting. I'm in the middle of June now. My Braves are 40-24 and 4.5 games up on the Marlins and 5 games ahead of the Phillies.
I might have to start thinking about some trade possibilities soon here myself. I had been on a tear but I've hit a slump here all of a sudden. I was 21 games over .500 and 8 games up. It's amazing how quickly a lead can evaporate with just one bad week.Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
I am almost at the end of my fifth season, but I am already starting contemplate trades for next season. Both Anderson and Bailey have club options this year. I am debating whether I should not exercise the option and then see if I can either low ball them or let them go for draft picks. Or I can exercise the option and then try to trade them for prospects. Anderson will be making just over $10 mil, and Bailey will be making about $8.5 mil if I exercise the options. I think that is a bit much for a closer, as just about anyone can realistically step into that role. I have Soria on my team as well for much cheaper, so he can fill that role. If I go with a trade for prospects or the draft picks, I will need to look to replace within the next couple of years Pena at first, Wright at third, Quentin in left field and Dunn in right. I have Michael Taylor that can take over one of the corner outfield spots. My CF is young, but really hasn't turned into the stud I thought he would. Suzuki's contract is up this year as well, so I might have to replace him.Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
If your willing to pay his 9.5mil contract, i'm sure you could get Grady Sizemore from the Indians for a few good prospects... He would be a great addition, and would make for a hell of an outfield when CarGo returns...RED SOX NATION!!!!Comment

See what the Reds asking price is for Drew Stubbs. Very good speed, can hit about 20-25 HRs, hit about .260, and re-signs very cheap.Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
Well, since it was the Opening day that he got hurt, I decided to trade Javier Lopez 2B to the Angels for Alexi Amarista 2b C, Randal Girchick RF C, and Bobby Abreu. I plan on unloading Bobby once Car-Go comes back.Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
Does this sound fair? In my Yankees franchise i want to trade for Grady Sizemore. I'm offering C Gary Sanchez (A potential and I bumped his ratings a little bit), SP Hector Noesi (B potential) and Ramiro Pena (B potential).Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
Controlling and managing all 30 teams in my franchise. As of April 26, Russell Branyan is hitting a miserable .130 and Juan Miranda is on the DL for the next several weeks. Brandon Allen is hitting poorly at AAA right now (.215) and does not appear to be more than a Triple-A/Majors tweener at best. To potentially fill the long-term hole at 1B for Arizona, they acquired Kila Kaaihue (currently hitting .304, 4 HR, 13 RBI) from Kansas City, who is now able to promote stud prospect Eric Hosmer. After the trade, Arizona designated Branyan for assignment. They are on the books for $975,000 of his one-year contract. The trade went as follows:
KC receives;
Wes Roemer (B Pot SP) #35 Prospect (Scout.com)
Collin Cowgill (C Pot OF) #11 Prospect (Scout.com)
Arizona receives:
Kila Kaaihue
Kaaihue only has a one-year deal ($360,000) so if he fails to produce Arizona will cut ties with him and pursue other options, but I have a feeling Chase Field is going to be a match made in heaven for a guy with his power. Hosmer is a monster at first base and is going to be a key cog in the future success of the Royals. Really like this trade for both sides as Arizona possibly fills a glaring need at little cost and Kansas City opens up first base for a stud prospect and adds depth in the outfield (albeit in AAA) and another starting pitching option (also at AAA).

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
Im about to pull the plug on a deal with Texas. Im the Dodgers and struggling on offense so Im going to move Jon Garland and Casey Blake to Texas for David Murphy and Mike Napoli. Neither Napoli or Murphy are even playing, while Texas is ranked 27th in team era. Furthermore, after doing the deal Texas ends up starting Blake in RF against both RH and LH pitchers and Garland is their 4th best SP. The only thing holding it up is my injury situation as both Furcal and Uribe are out for 2-3 weeks and if I move Blake then Im going to have a huge hole at 3B until Uribe gets back in a few weeks. Ive got Cristian Guzman who can move to 3B in the mean time but then Im forced to start a rookie at 2B for a few weeks and thats not a real good proposition.Comment
