So I may have made the the first bad trade of my franchise. I had SS Grant Green at SS early in the year and I traded away SS Dee Gordon to the Red Sox for another A potential SS. Now Green has dropped from a Low A potential to a High B because of a slump, and I don't think the AAA SS is ready to take over. I may just let Green play out the year at SS, and then give the job to my farmhand.

The Red Sox confirmed Thursday night that they have made a deal to sign Rockies left-hander Franklin Morales in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

To make room on the roster for Morales, Hideki Okajima has been designated for assignment.

Morales, 25, has a 3.86 ERA in 14 appearances this season.

I may do this same thing in my franchise as the Sox did tonight. Okajima was supposed to be my lefty specialist(at the least), & he's struggled...ERA is over 6. I am going to look into simply trading him to the rockies and getting Morales somewhow.

Realistic? Eh...probably not. However, if I want to succeed, I needed to ship them off. Kubel nor Duensing aren't very remarkable players, but they fit my needs.

Yeah i just put those trades together as an example in about 5 mins last night... You seem to have done alright out of it, if/when you choose to trade Felix Hernandez, look to bolster your C, OF ans SP postions i think... Especially your C because you have nothing to look forward to there, couple of old average guys and a few career minor leaguers at best...

Oddly enough my catcher Olivo has hit 20 HRs at the All Star Break. Its going to be tough to pull the trigger on a Felix trade, possibly near the deadline.

Yeah don't get me wrong Olivo is a good man to have back there, but you really want him holding the spot for someone coming though, coz he ain't getting any younger and he ain't getting any better... The Mariners just don't have anyone coming through in that position...

Yeah I can understand, especially if you are a Mariners fan, about some reluctancy to trade him, but what you havde to think about is he's going to cost you at least 10mil a year come the offseason, where as you could get 3 cheaper blokes for him in a trade that in 2-3 years time will be great players at the same cost combined...

Good luck with Franchise though and i'd like to keep hearing how things pan out so keep us informed...

I saw the Twins were looking to trade Miguel Sano, so I obliged them-Juan Francisco for Miguel Sano. Francisco's a favorite of mine, but I just couldn't pass it up.He's their starting 3B to end the season.

I am trying to get rid of Alfonso Soriano and big boy Carlos Zambrano. I just can not find the right deal to send them anywhere. I would like to package them together so if anyone could give me some ideas I would be forever thankful.

So in the end I didn't trade Votto. I was going to offer him arbitration and take the draft pick, but he agreed to my 2 year, 20 million offer with a team option.10 million each year, and I have the choice if he comes back the 2nd year. I alos got Sano to a good deal-10 year, 8 million, 800K each year with a team option. I got him until he's 31.I still got 50 million in cap room, so I should be able to re-sign Bruce as well.

I liked what the sox recently did in acquiring Franklin Morales from the Rockies. With that, I moved Okajima down to AAA because he wasn't doing well at all for me and called up Dennys Reyes to be my lefty specialist for now on. I offered AAA p Andrew Miller to the Rockies for Morales. They're currently deciding on the offer...what you all think?

Tabata: an in house trade(AL East)...come on man!

In recent news, the Rangers & Phillies made a big trade in my franchise in July...the rangers sent 3B Adrian Beltre to the Phils for LF rookie Casey Conn(A potetial). Seems like a good trade but man the phils are unreal w him at 3B...

I know. I thought of that as well. But I wanted to go out and get another good young outfielder and let Damon hit out of the DH spot. The opportunity arose... So I had to.

Cardinals Send:
SP Kyle McLellan (He was 12-4 with a 3.05 ERA!)
CF Colby Rasmus
C Steven Hill

Gimenez was my catcher in Triple A, and I knew I had no spot for him with Hill coming in, so I packaged him with Felix. Otherwise, this is pretty much the trade you recommended, Pete.

This would be a very sad day in Seattle if this were to happen....

Yankees send:

On a side note, can you do contract extensions during a season? I cannot find an option for that...
