40-37 with the White Sox, 0.5 GB of the Tigers. Looking to add an infield utility player, have my eye on Houstons Clint Barmes.

Also looking for a front end starter, possibly Erik Bedard.

Thoughts? Maybe similiar players to the ones ive listed.

If you're going to go after a utility guy, go for Jeff Baker. He tears up lefties. Or Jeff Keppinger.

In my franchise, I'm only 8 games in and as the Cubs, I can already tell it is going to be a year where I'm right at .500 all year or below it. I like the lineup with Soto, Pena (for this year), Barney/Baker, Castro, Soriano, Byrd, and Fukudome/Johnson/Colvin...my thought is that I am going to trade Ramirez. Ramirez is in his last year of his contract and isn't performing well. I could maybe give him to a playoff contender and get a good prospect or two. I am going to go after Fielder or Pujols in the offseason so I won't be resigning Ramirez anyways. My thoughts are maybe KC, San Diego, Minnesota, Florida, and maybe even Detroit.

Budgets off is the reason behind this.
Teams seem to tend to like a certain position(the Phillies...it's pitchers when I tested)...and they stock 'em up with budgets off.

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition

              Hey guys,

I could use some trade help. Right now I'm playing as the Cubs and it's in the first season. It's near the beginning of July and the Cubs are starting to drop out of the race.

I've placed Marlon Byrd, Carlos Pena and Kosuke Fukudome on the trading block.

Any suggestions on who I should trade for? I'd like to get a few young prospects (A or B potentials) in the deal. I'd probably like an outfielder, a pitcher and an infielder (2B/SS).

I'd try to sign a big name first baseman free agent in the offseason (Pujols or Fielder)

              Thanks!!

First off, the Cubs won't trade Byrd or Pena and they won't be able to trade Fukudome. Dempster is a possible trade, along with maybe DeWitt and maybe Ramirez. Try trading those players to teams around the deadline that are in the race and try get some decent prospects. Ramirez is probably your best bet but Dempster is getting old and I could see the Cubs parting ways with him soon.

Really cause I seem to recall there's a possible MVP candidate playing CF for the Rockies and Oaklands LF in return playing for St. Louis now. Haha

Ramirez is injured and out for the season so I can't trade him.

I'm the ChiSox (23-17) and both Rios and Quentin struggles (.190 avg)

Is there any fair trade with one of these guys to land Jay Bruce?

The Indians seem to be all over the trades. They got Pettite from the FA block then traded an A potential young pitcher for CJ Wilson of the rangers. Alexi Ramirez was also traded to the Pirates w/ 4 yrs left on his contract.

not with those two players. Bruce is a future player of the Reds.

                            Just asking again....

I'm the Cubs and we're out of the playoff race. It's 2 weeks before the deadline is up and I'd like to trade Soriano, Byrd, or Pena. I was going to trade Ramirez, but he's out for the season with an injury.

I'd like to trade for the future in the outfield, and maybe the infield as well.

                            Any ideas?

                            Thanks!
