Youngs contract is bad in real life but is it bad in the game?

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition

Ok so as many of you know I am doing a Phillies franchise and have been looking to trade away some players, and now I think I finally have some very good deals in place. The Mets are willing to trade me Johan Santana, R.A. Dickey, and Chris Young for Roy Osawlt. I like this trade because it gets me a younger, better, and cheaper pitcher in Johan and helps out the bullpen adding two proven pitchers to help in the pen for fill in for Blanton if he struggles. The next trade I do not think is as good as the first, but it saves me cap space and gets me younger at the same time. I trade away Polanco and Maddson to Texas for Young. I did not like this trade as much, but like I said above it saves me some 4 million in cap and gets me younger by 3 years with Young. I also signed Kelvin Escobar from free agency to take Maddson's spot in the bullpen. So overall what do you guys think of these trades that I made, overall I think it helps me, not just for this year, but in the future because we get younger, and are also able to free up cap space to sign some free agents in the off-season. So thanks guys for all the help trying to find me some trades, but I think I made some pretty good ones. Thanks again guys!

Anyone here, just want to know what you guys think of the trades that I made so far the Young trade is working out he is 7 for 10 with 4 stolen bases, and 4 RBI's. Santana hasn't pitched yet, but he goes tomorrow for me, so that should be exciting. Ok, thanks in advanced guys.

Im waiting for the OS full minors before i play franchise with the Blue Jays, so in the meantime i decided to do one with the Red Sox. Ive got a pretty good lineup everyone is performing up to standards, but im trying to flip either JD Drew or Mike Cameron for a younger RF with good feilding nothing else needs to be exceptionally well, as every role is already filled in the lineup. wouldnt mind to have a low end rotation guy added to the deal as Lester is struggling and i might need some help

              Any suggestions?

PS i dont have any A potential prospects, a few B's

I am still having very little luck getting any interest on trades. I'm trying to get a better 1B to replace Mitch Moreland. I can't get any interest whatsoever for a A/B prospect or established player. Not even 3 for 1 offers. This is getting ridiculous.

The game overvalues prospects so unless you offer an A you won't get an a prospect, unless that team already has a very good first baseman for example you could get Ortiz or a Red Sox prospect very easily but for Florida yBALou have no chance. The teams that likely will trade a first baseman are NYY, BOS, maybe BAL, DET, LAA they're so bad they tend to trade away good prospects for established veterans I got Hank Conger C with A pot for Carlos Guillen 35 yrs old C with B pot., PHI, maybe CHC, STL, and MIL. Contract length isn't taken into consideration. Hope this helps. If you wan't a power bat I would take Ortiz but for a prospect I would try LAA.

In my Mariners my franchise I've made a few moves to help with my lack of power in the lineup. I traded milton bradley for andruw jones straight up. I got JJ Hardy (whos killing it for me) for jack wilson and a B prospect and i trade Erik Bedard Blake Beaven and antoher A prospect for Ricky Romero. This way I have a little bit more pop and an extremly solid number 2 pitcher behind Felix.

Thanks, I'll try this. I've been trying to pry Pujols away from StL, but unless I give them Andrus, Hamilton and an A prospect, it ain't gonna happen.

I was pretty excited when I heard they revamped the trade AI to make it more realistic, but damn. One extreme to the other.

I hate to do this but I have had trouble with Carlos Ruiz, one of my favorite players and a great fielding catcher, but has any body been able to get any better hitting catchers with the Phillies. And I will not give away Dominic Brown ever, and that's is all these teams want. lol Any suggestions?

What works for me ALL the time is to offer Ryan Maddson with a player and your trade will most of the time get accepted. I think you could get Carlos Santana and maybe another player for Ruiz and Maddson, so that trade would work very well for the Phillies in my opinion.

In my RTTS, the Yankees acquired Zack Greinke from the Brewers for Brandon Webb. Webb didn't have a bad year last season (13-11, 3.62 ERA and 195 SOs), but still a steal for the Yankees IMO. I'm on the Jays, so I'm not looking forward to having to play against Greinke in the future.

Thanks, I'll try a lower rated rp first. But if that doesn't work, I'll do the trade, then sign KelvimEscobar

I noticed that after signing Vladimir Guerrero no one would trade for him I think this is a great addition although I think now I can trade him I am the Reds with a better catcher. Who do you suggest I trade for?
