This is the single greatest improvement to the game and I've been waiting years to do it...Now sliders can be adjusted.Comment

Re: A nice little adjustment: hitting camera offset to the inside...
...On a side note...
One thing this view is really exposing is how the timing on this game is kind of messed up. If you swing early on a pitch inside with a right handed hitter, hit it to straight away left like you should, you generally won't hit it very well and the swing feedback will say that you swung too early.
The game doesn't do a very good job of distinguishing timing on an inside pitch from timing on an outside pitch. In real life you want to rotate those hips early and get your hands inside the ball on an inside pitch, and then let the ball travel a bit more on pitches away. Yet with this game perfect timing on an inside pitch probably means you're going to hit it to center field. Yeah sure, in real life some guys are good at the inside out swing, but they are the exception rather than the rule.
Of course this brings up a whole host of other issues as well, like intent, and individual player ability... And it gets pretty complex...
But I think it's pretty clear there needs to be a better distinction made between pulling the ball and hitting it the other way...
Maybe have hitter tendencies, to make players more unique? Pull hitters, spray hitters, etc.
Just thinking out loud here.

Re: A nice little adjustment: hitting camera offset to the inside...
Well, I am 0-3 since making the change to this camera, but that is more because my fielding is off (7 errors in the last 3, only 2 throwing errors). Now if I could just layoff the freakin sliders low and away I would be doing better. Even though I am losing, I am getting way more solid contact with this camera angle than I was with any other so that is a positive. Guess I just need to take the camera to the cages and practice up a bit.
As for timing, I have hit some homeruns with very late timing as I don't really think that affects the hits power or contact, I just think its there for looks really and to try to help you. You just need to remember, PERFECT timing is for a hit up the middle.Comment

Re: A nice little adjustment: hitting camera offset to the inside...
Maybe so. I guess the main issue is establishing a difference between pull power and power to all fields, as in too many guys have power to all fields in this game when compared to real life.
This is an entirely different subject though, and I'm pretty sure it's been brought up before... Ignore my ramblings.
Good to see some people getting the most out of this new camera view. It's made me enjoy the game a lot more.

Re: A nice little adjustment: hitting camera offset to the inside...
After switching over, I'm on a 11-1 run. My only loss was to Dallas Braden and the A's like 6-5. I only scored 5 runs that game; they really shut me down! I WAS in the wildcard race (early September) but now I am in cruise control; way ahead in first!
I am gonna have to switch from All-Star to Hall of Fame next season. (Gonna wait till the end of the season and try to clean house in the Playoffs on All-Star;

Re: A nice little adjustment: hitting camera offset to the inside...
Very nice. Switched over and hit four doubles (when i usually hit like one) my first game with it. Having a bit of trouble with high pitches though. Might need to zoom out a bit. Put me too close and what looks high is actually in the zone. I also drew three walks in that first game. Obviously just one game as a sample, but so far so good.Comment

Re: A nice little adjustment: hitting camera offset to the inside...
Struck out 13 times my last game, with a lot of those on high pitches out of the zone... I think it was just the pitcher's arm angle that was throwing me off. I've seen a few pitchers where this offset to the inside camera doesn't seem to help much if at all, and I don't think there really is a perfect view...

In fact I probably should have tried to adjust the camera like a hitter might do in real life... Change up his stance a bit when facing a tough pitcher, to get a better look at the ball. All ties severed...Comment

I like that idea. Maybe utilize all the custom cameras and have them slightly different for different arm angles. One for submariners, one for side arm, etc. Something like that anyway.Struck out 13 times my last game, with a lot of those on high pitches out of the zone... I did try zooming out a bit this game and that seemed to help with my recognition of high pitches and I tweaked the angle a bit to help with pitches on the corner and I really think I've found a great spot for it. This time I drew SEVEN walks, hit four doubles and a home run. still struck out ten times and won a close one 6-5. Love it.Comment

Re: A nice little adjustment: hitting camera offset to the inside...
I have mine angled to the inside and looking down a little bit. It gives me the most realistic view of the plate in regards to where you can see pitches as a hitter. You can really see the pitches break and the off-speed stuff come to the plate slow. I'll post some pictures when I get a chance.Comment
