    Ok, wow, just wow.

I tried this yesterday and man, after a few at bats the awesomeness started. Walks, home runs, doubles... man, Im a batting machine. Walks???... ME???? wow!

Had to change the difficulty to hall of fame because the game is way too easy now.

Thanks man, without a doubt this the best tip for this game. This should be the default camera...

I've bounced around different views and this one is the best. I don't chase as many bad pitches, draw more walks, and hit for higher average. I vote for this thread to be stickyed as well. Good job.

I'm wanting to try this but am confused as to how to set it up and have it saved for future use. Is this in game? Does it save for future games? Does each ballpark need to be saved?

Could someone just toss me some easy, step by step info on how to get this ready?

Do I need two, one for LH and one for RH?

And for F's sake...does this help recognize the changeup better? It's ridiculous how impossible it is to recognize.

the best advice i can give you is pretend you are the umpire.. watch a game and look at his view.. then go into cameras and custom then change the preset to offset and tinker with the zoom and angle a bit till you get your desired view. Not only will this make the game better for hitting.. but you get better views of the stadium as well.

If you don't feel like turning the difficulty up turn pitching consistency up for the AI one or two clicks. it really helps.. (if you have strike frequency down)

Just gave it a try.. but zoomed out slightly where you can see at least the full line around the batter box. Just did the good at-bat.. and i ended up going 8 for 9, including a opposite field homerun that just missed the post, and a center-right field off the wall double (with Jose Molina so yeah he's slow and power shouldn't be up there lol) but saw quite some variety of hits. Seem to read the low balls better but not the ball that are away... well looked away but ended up being in the strike zone lol, I'm used to the default view so from there it would have been a ball instead. Looking good so far. Well done.

I love this cam. I fear relievers now when they put me at a disadvantage at the plate. You have to be very patient when mismatched. But, if you get a hit, very satisfying. Plus, I love how I feel like I can take some chances when I have an advantage. That high or low slider or curve in a LP vs RH or RP vs LH matchup, so much easier to read and lock on to now.

                    Mismatch? Strike 3!!!!!!

Re: A nice little adjustment: hitting camera offset to the inside...

Got another good custom camera last night... One that actually has your eyes above the ball and more or less looking down on it as the pitch comes in.

I was trying to come up with a view that made bunting easier... One that didn't have the batter block the pitcher while squaring to bunt... Then it occurred to me that in real life a batter's eyes are going to be above the ball, so I tried a couple of things and discovered more good stuff...

What I did was use the "Wide" preset when creating the view. This preset seems to use a different lens than the other presets, one that pushes the pitcher further away. Then I tilted the camera down as far as it would go, raised it up and zoomed in... And of course set it offset to the inside... And it was pretty remarkable...

                      1. You don't lose sight of the low pitch when using the "Wide" preset this way. I thought low pitches might be hard to read, but surprisingly no.

                      2. Having the camera titled down gives you a better, more realistic read on the ball. Just like offset to the inside helped the realism by putting your eyes inside the ball, having it tilted down helps by putting your eyes above the ball... Just like in real life.

I'll post a pic when I get a chance. It's a really unusual view, one that almost looks down on home plate.

Here is what I have. Swung the camera to the inside of the plate, lowered the camera about halfway to the ground from Wide Offset preset, zoomed in a little, and angled almost all the way down.

Just switched my offset custom cam from the inside back to the outside and its much better. I like a zoomed in cam, like Catcher8, and swinging the offset inside caused side arm pitchers release point to be covered by the batter during RvR or LvL matchups

@Spit_Bubble - The first "offset/inside" camera you noted in the original post, didn't do much for me. HOWEVER, this particular change worked wonders for me. I just switched to analog hitting and I had my best game to date since picking up MLB The Show on release day.

I had 8 runs on 10 hits and drew 4, count 'em 4, WALKS!!!

The screens are from my franchise game against the Blue Jays. The first image is of Sam Fuld and the next is Evan Longoria. I have my camera setting up a bit higher than yours, but, somehow it works for me. I was seeing the ball much better. I had one rough patch where I had 6 consecutive K's against the CPU pitcher. However, I chalk that up to still getting used to analog hitting and his delivery was actually throwing me off.

                                Screens below:
