LionsFan-I would strongly suggest against not scouting manually. My guess is 50% of the draft is F potential and 25% D potential, and that may be a lowball number. The odds are definitely against you if you leave it to the CPU. Also, the CPU will scout 16 and 17 year olds, and those wont show up in that year's draft. Not a lot of A potentials show up in the draft; 5 is a good year.

I've got a potential descriptor sheet on page 2 of this thread. It's not complete, but I don't know when I'll get a chance to edit it. You'll also have some players appear in the draft that weren't on the scout list; that happens every year.
Yeah I'm definitely starting over now. When i first played i contemplated manually scouting, but i figured the CPU did a decent enough job until i went into the draft and only 5 guys were scouted in any form

      Re: Rookie Scouting

Just moved ahead to the offseason after Year 1. First thing I do is go to look at my recently drafted kids in the roster... and the last 3 are completely missing even though I'm sure I signed all my picks. The first 5 are there, but the last 3 are vanished. Odd.

Anyway, that draft was pretty good considering the condensed time for scouting before the 2011 draft. Picked 1 A potential, 3 B's, 1 C and a few D's. One of the B's went missing, but luckily the other 2 missing guys are D potentials.

I never realized there were different levels of "A" potential players, like a high A vs a low A. It sounds as if "close to being a sure thing as you can get" is the best but using the list in this thread is there an order in which they would rank? "Should challege for the MVP before long" might be the second best... any ideas?
