For further explanation what I mean is that if your current pitcher on the mound gets injured you are forced to bring in a pitcher that's cold. What should happen is if the pitcher is injured, when you bring in the guy from the bullpen, he should be set to a "ready" status because in real life the bullpen pitcher is allowed to get warmed up in the event of an injury.

I hope I made myself clear.
He is actually ready, the OSD does not illustrate it properly unfortunately.

Are you sure about that? Because when it happened I remember my guy throwing a lot slower than normal, having just a hint of his normal accuracy, and ended up giving up the game-winning homerun after walking two guys because he hung a curveball belt high when I was trying to put it in the dirt. It might have just been a bad day for him but it really seemed to me that he was brought in "cold".

Is Sony trying to fix the OSD so it does illustrate it properly?

I am 100% sure because we saw it happen a few times during the event. We were told that the pitcher is actually warm and ready to go, that it does not display correctly. Not sure if it is going to be fixed in time to show properly but know they are warm.

Also, the reason we got to experience the pitcher getting hurt quite a few times is because 42 (Brett), likes to jump around and dive with his pitcher resulting in him getting hurt, lol.

Have they fixed the issue where a pitch goes directly THROUGH your bat? I am playing '11 right now and I was just reminded of it when Adam Dunn struck out with the bases loaded. I check the replay, and the ball goes THROUGH the barrel of his bat. Perfect timing and everything. This has happened a handful of times to me where I couldn't figure out how I could have missed the pitch, and the replay reveals the ball passing through the bat.

I have enough trouble hitting in this game, I don't need to swing bats w/ holes in them!

This was brought up in the past, and the answer that was given was basically along the lines of this. There was some sciency stuff that went with it, but the short answer is that this isn't really happening. What actually happens when you are swinging is not 100% reflected in replays, because of the nature of replays (real-time animations vs a slow-motion replay that lets you move the camera wherever you want). Basically the ball going through the bat during a replay is exclusively a bug within the replay system, and is not a gameplay-related issue.

Am I the only person that notices this? I b*tch about this every year and it seems like nobody else cares or notices. If I am the only one I will stop making a point of this.

Any of you guys that were at the CD event, what do you think the new default batting camera in 12 is based from?

Is it catcher panned down and zoomed or is it wide or offset pulled around directly behind the plate?

I would love to be able to re-create the depth that I'm seeing. Maybe it's because the throwing animations are a lot better in 12 but it just seems like the ball is much easier to pick up.

I feel like I'm trying to hit off a pitching machine in 11, it's just so hard for me to pick the ball up.

                        Thanks fellas, very much appreciated.

You won't be able to recreate it. That camera has an increase field of vision that 11 doesn't offer in any of its presets (and is not an editable feature like it is for manual replays).

EDIT: According to Russell's comment, I guess I stand corrected. I thought somebody tried their best to recreate it once in the thread when the shot was released, and they still couldn't get the right FOV. They must have not even tried changing the preset. Guess I want to try and recreate it myself in 11, then.

In '11, after an outfielder caught a fly ball, he would come to a complete stop in 2 steps. Like a guy will all out sprint and catch a ball in the gap. And once he catches it, he takes 1 step and stops completely. In real life, a guy will take 10 steps or so to slow himself down (assuming a runner isn't tagging) or they will get to the wall to stop themselves.

Do fielders still stop on a dime?

The new camera is based off the "wide" preset view from MLB 11.
