          MLB The Show has had the same Catcher throwing back to the pitcher animations for like ever. And its time for some new ones. It just needs some added variety. I think the pump fake animation happens too often.

          I have actually done extensive research on this subject. The trouble is not with the catcher's animation, it is the pitcher's. The Mackey Sasser comes from when the pitcher has a longer follow through, such as a "square up" animation after the pitch gets thrown. So for a pitcher with a shorter post-pitch sequence of movement, the catcher throws the ball right back. A pitcher who throws the ball, and then has a longer branch animation, causes the catcher to wait for that animation to finish, then uses the delay animation to wait for that, and then throws it back.

          Use Bobby Jenks to see an example of this. Throw a pitch with him, and the catcher does the pump fake everytime, because Bobby has this weird hitch in the animation where he brings his push-off leg back around to square up. It got to the point where I honestly would not use him in relief, as I did not want to watch Salty pump fake every ball back to the mound.

          Obviously, one could change this by altering the delivery edit, but when the Pitch delivery is spot on, it seems silly to do this...

          Seems like a fairly easy fix for this year.

            Yeah, this mirrors my experience as well... that it's pitcher's delivery that triggers the Mackey Sasser double pump action. For that reason I hated pitching with Chad Billingsley.

            I like the animation... a more variety to something we see over and over. Don't know if it's an easy fix though, but making it skippable is something to consider, as it basically prolongs the wait between pitch deliveries for a pitcher who already has a longer than average delivery.

              Not sure if this has ever been said or not but it pertains to the highlight reel post game. I always notice that the highlight video has the wrong details to a certain play. For instance Chipper Jones ripped a 2-run double down the first base line into the corner and at the bottom is says "Jones doubled to 1B." I always notice Freeman grounded to SS for a single when it was a base hit to left. McCann grounded to 2B for a single when it was a liner to right center.

              I bet this would be a pretty simple fix.

                This may have been mentioned before, but it's something that has irked me a small amount. If I'm in the field and the CPU has a runner on 2nd and a ball is it to the CF he will sometimes not charge the ball and stop and let it come to him. I can be holding down on the stick and he won't move. I want to be able to charge the ball and come up throwing, not sit back and lazily field it and let the run score. Pretty sure I don't have any fielding assist set either so that shouldn't be it. Never thought to check though.

                  Fielding feels so much better on the infield. The urgency for the fielders to get rid of the ball is exceptional.

                  So fluid and smooth. Gone are those lazy and slow animations.

                    Do the outfielders also show more urgency?

                    Especially for sacrifice flies?

                              One thing I want to add. With the way the camera is setup this year, it allowed me to "see" the ball much better out of the pitchers hand. Really loved the variety of hits and how the ball speed was affected by different surfaces.

                              Saw a great play that never happened last year. Ball hit to third baseman , he fields, reaches out and tags runner with two hands and throws to first to complete the double play. Looked so natural and real.

                                EN and Co, GREAT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ? in last years game during franchise mode the sim offensive #s (i.e. HR and RBI) were very high, they looked more like roid era #s... will that be addressed for this years game?
