    Swinging high won't result in a high swing - I believe it was set up for Timing but I will double check that for you tomorrow.

      Haha gotcha. So that means when Granderson is up, if you're a righty, you're swinging at his outside pitches like you're swinging at inside pitches, right?

      I just wondered if that would mix you guys up, since technically your instinctive reaction would be to pull what would then be his outside pitch.

      No matter to me then since I switch hit.

        Don't let that ruin it for you - it is EXTREMELY cool. It is very well balanced and it's a ton of fun.

          As far as the new physics(ball)...
          Will we see things like bunted balls with backspins that go back foul, line drives that seem to stay on a line, or nuckle (hated those !!), or the sometimes lines that get that rise in mid flight etc...

          Either way seeing how those at event are loving the physics I am really excited to see it and play it for myself.

            How about incorporating the nav controller to control where to swing and the move is the swing? yes id try to swing with both lol or design something ...

            Oh well I'll certainly try it out. Already have vacation entered.

            Will there be any online mode reports?
            Lastly RTTS: Can we use the rs yet to use to loom around when ball in in flight etc....

              As far as ball physics, does the ball hit on dirt differently than it does on grass? For instance, you wouldn't ever see a ground rule double in real life unless it hit the warning track... it simply couldn't bounce high enough on grass.

                I'm not sure that it's exactly timing only, as it does pick up bat height during practice swings and whatnot. For example, you can hold out your bat, as to say "throw it right here" and the hand height is also dependent on where you hold the move control in relation to your "calibration stance". Also, you can control the angles of bunts as well as try to deaden the ball.

                The baserunning, pitching and fielding with move are very well done, and innovative IMO. FYI, the pitching mechanic with Move is ambidextrous, so it will be flip your motion and determine your delivery by the depth of the controller and release timing. Eddie played a full game vs. a dualshock and it was a competitive game.


                As for ball physics, yes the ball bounces differently off of grass vs dirt vs turf vs concrete vs padding. We even sat down with Brian to discuss the math behind trajectory, energy, air resistance, rotation, etc. and I pretty much guarantee that the physics are true to life, and totally different from last year. There were a few suggested changes for physics behavior on certain hit types, but other than that, my Engineering knowledge definitely agrees with the model they have presented. It's truly a thing of beauty lol.

                  Do the higher elevation stadiums in Colorado and Arizona have the air resistance calculated differently so the balls travel farther? It is certainly understandable if they don't, but it would be really cool if they did.

                      Unless my Home Run Derby numbers were just dumb luck, the only stadium I've ever hit the ball over 500 feet in was Colorado. I'm inclined to think this was already in the game for Coors. Don't know if every stadium got their own lift of some sort.

                        Not sure if this should go here or in another thread but hear me out. On replays in later innings after someone has hit a home run, if the batter was a switch hitter his helmet always shows from the opposite side. Example. If Mark Texeira hits a homerun from the right side of the plate, then is batting from the left later, the replay would show him with his current (left side) batting helmet. So the ear flap would be on the wrong side in the replay. Has that been fixed?

                            How about the ability to deceive a hitter by shaking off a pitch? Say you want to throw a FB but the hitter knows it and there was a button to press to shake off that pitch. Just an idea, but I bet it would be an awesome feature to add.

                              How about the ability to legitimately back pick to first, second or third from the catcher and actually get someone out? It happens IRL, why cant it happen in the Show!
