Yeah....no.
IDGAF about batting stances to tell the truth.
Stats is where I'm at.
If they're standing at the plate as opposed to sitting or laying down....they're good enough for me.

Not gonna lie, I'm in the exact same boat. I don't even pay attention to real life players stances. You could show me David Wright's stance in video right now and I couldn't even tell you it was David Wright's stance. Half the time I don't even know who I'm batting with in The Show. They all blur together. My team only has two spots on the lineup. A batter, and a batter who's also the pitcher.

Nem, I'm a huge Mets fan here and i would like to know if D-Wright got some love and had his stance changed to match is real life one. His stance in the game has always been off... Its time for a change.. Was it changed, or is it still the one from 2008?

Ok, FIRST OF ALL Wright's stance has NOT "always been off." While he did change it recently, before the change (which was a little under two seasons IIRC) it was spot on, right down to his mannerisms. His follow thru was never in because the game didn't have anyone's follow thru. But pre pitch, from the batting glove fidgeting to the practice swing, I went over that in detail.

SECOND OF ALL - It's changed. Although I probably should have looked over his follow thru.

THIRD OF ALL - I don't know. I just wanted to say third of all.

I like to keep this thread focused on gameplay, which is why I'm not responding to all the questions. Others can jump in, but gameplay is where I am focused.

If things aren't accurate after the game ships (one handed follow instead of a 2 hand, for example) then we can gather the changes needed and I can help get them put in via patch (as long as they have space).

If you felt that, why not up the difficulty?

There was never "too many hits" in the games we played. In fact, we kept asking for more offense. We weren't sure if we were just THAT competitive but we had to stay on AS or else we would see a lot of 1-2, 1-0 games with the rare occasional 5-3.

On All Star you had a great variance, including one game where I was robbed - TWICE - 7-6.

"C'mon... step on first!!!" "Throw the ball!!!"

Were you having that feeling against the CPU on HOF as well, or just in your 2 (and 2 on 2) player games?

I didn't play the CPU on HOF - I enjoy the balance that you see on AS. One game I'm dominant, another I can't hit a lick, another it's back and forth. Someone else may have played on HOF so maybe they can chime in.

Remember, I check as many teams as possible and as many pitchers as possible (1-5 in the rotation) to get a good feel. I want the game to require no slider tweaks whatsoever. I felt like I didn't need to touch anything and saw just about everything that I would like to see in a game right out of the box (including walks).

Is it perfect - no. But right out of the box the game is VERY well tuned on AS.

Also want to add - I played MLB11 last night for the first time since... and felt the controls to be sluggish and unresponsive.

I can only infer my initial feelings were correct in that the game "feels" better this year - ESPECIALLY the throwing. I can't believe how "worse" it was last year.

I'll chime in but it's a little tough for me because I'm mostly an online player. I very rarely play against the CPU, so it's hard to compare from previous versions. If I'm playing offline, it's RTTS.

But anyway I played the CPU on HOF and got beat down pretty bad. Although that was the first game I played. Probably should have started on All Star but felt I could handle the jump. The CPU does not mess around on HOF. It's tough to pick up pitching patterns. First game was NYY-SF and I couldn't touch Timmy's fastball. I saw a nice mix of pitches early on though & I think I got 3 or 4 walks (which is a lot for me). But make a mistake with runners on base and you will pay! Once the Giants took control of the game (I think 5-1) around the 5th inning, Timmy just started throwing a ton of fastballs. Earlier on he was mixing in the off speed stuff but once that lead was in tact, forget it. CPU knew I couldn't touch that fastball and I eventually lost 8-1.

The rest of the time when playing the CPU I stuck with All Star. The games were all different and each was a blast to play. I had a high scoring game (hit b2b2b HRS!).. Also a game where I nearly got no hit. That was against Cliff Lee, who I can never hit anyway. I never felt too overwhelmed but it never felt too easy..A good medium. I tried to use as many teams as I could and swayed away from just having ACE vs ACE pitching match ups. I pitched with a lot of #3 starters.

So for guys who play offline a lot, you'll probably have a different feel. For me it was really tough to jump right into HOF. If I did play a lot offline, I'd definitely start with All Star and then move up to HOF.

No comment on Legend.. I didn't get a chance to try but can only imagine.

Our online-focused buddy from November. Senility can't be setting in this early - we still have franchise things to focus on!

BTW - NYY - you'll be happy to know there were less mistakes for meatballs by pitchers over the heart of the plate in Jan. compared to Nov. They did fix that part so HR's were better balanced when we saw the game again.
