        If things aren't accurate after the game ships (one handed follow instead of a 2 hand, for example) then we can gather the changes needed and I can help get them put in via patch (as long as they have space).
        Thank god they changed it! You're right, it wasn't way off when they changed it in 2008, but now, at this time, its way off, besides the routine he does after every pitch. And they have had his no doubt home run follow through in the game. But thanks so much, now he'll have is accurate one as of now and hopefully his correct follow through!

          Now that the ball actually spins and can gain & lose momentum off the bat I'm wondering if these new physics also effect pitched balls and can you now see noticeable difference on the speed and break of curve balls & change-ups out of the pitchers hand ??

            Ok playing a game last night something came up. I was pitching and the cpu hit a ball in the gap. Now the outfielder was off screen and I had no idea where he was. Because of this (me running in the dark) I gave a away a triple instead of a double.

            Now in Fifa (just to name an example) when your player is running towards the ball off screen you see a little arrow pointing out where he is coming from.

            Now I thought the show had this as well but after playing last nights game it apparantly has not.

            I'll put it in my wistlist for 13

              Good to hear. I think this comment alone has me sold on the game. I am super stoked about physics being more real to life.

              By the way, can you tell me if the same great feeling has extended to the fielding aspect of the game? Have they finally figured out a way to stop the stuck in mud animations when fielding? Or at least negated somewhat? Thanks Pared

                It's lessened for sure but it will not be the true manual people want. Their entire animation system is based on those catch animations triggering.

                But the addition of the ball being able to pop out at any time and the lessening of it does make it feel more user involved and less "magnetic."

                  Excellent. While I am in the "true manual" camp, I do appreciate some of the cool animations on fielding. I am not even too bothered by the tractor beam on fly balls, but the grounders to center that end up slower than pond water are really frustrating. It is about the only time in the game that I am forced to pretend I didn't see it. Heck, even if they just slowed down the runners to match when it happened I would be cool with it. I just hate giving those lying, cheating, CPU opponents any sort of advantage over me knowing that my skill level isn't good enough to compensate.

                    So you know for a fact that Wrights stance has been changed for this years game? And also, did they accommodate the changed to Ike's stance, you know how he lowered his hands..

                      Watched the video again and see that they fixed Jay Bruce's stance and also apparently fixed Ryan Hanigan's catchers helmet. Thanks SCEA.

                      I just want to comment that I have always played this game on All-Star and really feel that is the level that's its intended to be played on. The only slider that I touch is the pitch speed and I always turn it to the lowest setting so that I can actually draw a walk and move the PCI in time.

                      Pared, if you used zone hitting with the PCI on, do you notice any improvements? It's always seemed that it has a slight delay and you can't move it as long as I would like before the pitch gets there. I don't know how to explain it, but maybe you have noticed the same type of thing.

                      BTW, Latos is going to be number 55 for the Reds. No biggie as we can change that and I'm sure SCEA did as well.

                        I agree, the game is very well tuned at default All-Star difficulty. I think you'll like the new default pitch speed too. The new catcher batting cam helps a lot with reading pitches too.

                        As for the PCI, it still "locks in" at a certain point. Unfortunately, that is by design. I'd love to have full control thru the entire swing too. I do think it's more accurate this year, and the descriptions are more accurate to where your PCI ends up.

                        Latos... I can't remember for certain but I think his number was updated when we were there. He was the pitcher we chose when we started a game there to go over stadium items.

                          Do the middle infielders still do the backhanded popup slide animation on ground balls? If so, how frequently?

                          Is there more user control when it comes to sliding?

                          Can we choose to cut off a throw, or is it either throw to cut off or throw to base?

                          Is the AI still very good at laying off borderline pitches on 2 strike counts? (perhaps it's just my opinion but I thought they were too good at it)

                          Have outfield dive animations been redone? I've always felt that a dive at full speed carried no weight, if that makes sense.

                          Do we get release point feedback on every pitch this year? Last year it was only when the hitter didn't swing?

                          Any new first baseman pick/scoop animations?

                          Does "normal" timing still exist? This one bugged me. I'd be out in front of the pitch yet it would be a lazy fly to the opposite field. It seemed a little predetermined to me. Maybe it's just me, though.

                            It is there on every pitch. When you click L3 to bring up the swing analysis it is listed under "Release".

                              It's still base or cutoff man, and BUT if you are throwing to a base, the CPU will cut it off for you if it warrants a cutoff and there's no play

                              Again, there are many new animations, not only for 1B but all positions. I was very impressed by some of the newly added fielding animations... as well as the realistic use in different situations.

                              I believe it is still there. One thing I did notice (and this may be related to the new ball physics), but the PCI and hit analysis dialog is more accurate and true to life.

                                If this question was asked before, I apologize ahead of time. I'm posting in the middle or writing a paper so I don't really have time to go through the entire thread.

                                Last year I used Timing Hitting on All Star difficulty. It played pretty well. However, I felt like it was a little too home run happy. Is this the case this year? On average, how many home runs would you say were hit per game? Thanks.
