Just an error in the logic for charging the error. Probably one of the toughest things to code in the game because of all the variables and judgement calls. Even official scorers don't get it right sometimes.

Not trying to sound like an a-hole... but get a new controller! LOL

Seriously, it's most likely more of a mechanical problem with the DS3, instead of the game itself.

For the few that have played the game I was curious if pitch movement has been addressed at all? Is the 4seam fastball just as straight as it has always been, has the knuckleball movement been updated and so on?

The SS actually made an awfully errant throw intended to 1B but ended up to home instead, but he acted as if he made a mental mistake and was not charged with an error. Well, this one isn't a realistic example, but nonetheless the situation is not fair to the pitcher...
Ha, this once actually happened in a softball game I was keeping score for, sort of. There were two outs and a runner on first, and a slap hitter hit a ground ball to second base. The 2B snagged it up and tried to hurry her throw, and in the midst of doing so, it flew out of her hands on the windup and headed in a lob fashion near the shortstop, who was covering second base. It bounced in front of her and plenty late, but the question in scoring this was whether the intent was to throw the ball to first base or second base. If the former, it would be an error; if the latter, it would be a fielder's choice. It was actually kind of funny, but we know from her body language that she fully intended to go to first base with the ball, so she was charged an error.

But you're right, it's tough to enter the mind of the player, because technically when keeping score, you're not supposed to do that. Also, as nemesis put it, this would be especially difficult for a video game to program exactly what it is that was supposed to happen, given all of the circumstances involved.

I'll have to test these two things the next time I play: field a ground ball with nobody on and just hold onto the ball; field a ground ball with nobody on and throw it to another base (both are assuming I could have gotten the runner out on first with a normal throw and ordinary effort). If they are charged as errors, perhaps we can coerce with the developers about what it would take to correct this statistical anomaly.

It's easy to suggest that, and that was actually the first thing that I thought (aside from human error, which I found out it wasn't the very next time it happened within the same inning). However, the controller works fine for anything else, including anything else in this game.

It's equally as likely to suggest that the game is at fault, especially when this exact situation has been independently reproduced from multiple individuals.

The error thing isn't that big of a deal; neither is this other thing, either. It does, however, allow them to consider other control scheme possibilities when it comes to turning the double play, which might in turn shut off this bug from occurring. I suggested one which will be taken into consideration for next year, and I am very happy about that.

As someone who is prone to completely goof off while fielding during blowout games, I'm almost positive that you are still charged with an error even if you don't throw the ball.

Forgive me if I missed it but did any of you CDers notice if we now have the mound visit option to send out the catcher or manager instead of just the pitching coach?

how are the outfield animations? found them lacking in the past. yes robbing homeruns look good but everything else feels rigid & doesnt look *right* imo.

diving catches for instance dont look nearly as spectacular as they should. the variety just isnt there..nor the intensity of running down a fly ball in general. improved?

finally. infield. do balls still bounce & then warp into the glove on a diving play? any more animations for snagging a high line drive? limited to 2 basically in the past. the "star jump" & a lazy vertical jump if you were on the move.

Nothing changed on this front. I would like to see an option to send the catcher out and I think it could be done in such a way so that it was not a cheat.

How about an Official Scoring section where we can overturn scoring decisions - this would have to be Season/Franchise only as some fielding incentives are tied to RTtS.

How do the improved physics play into the ball-off-the-bat interaction?

More specifically... does extention, barrel contact, etc. have an impact?

One thing that needs to disappear is when a batter gets jammed inside and can still go deep to the opposite field.

It no longer does go deep to opposite field when jammed. I only seen bloopers and knubbers when there.

I am not sure if anyone has asked this yet, but:

In one of the Vita videos, I saw the option for "Toss and Stretch" for the Bullpen Pitchers...

What does it and what is the benefit?

I assume that an option which is in the Vita Version, also finds its way to the PS3 version of the game?!

Yes...it's in the PS3 version as well.
There are two warm up options now.
There is the regular get up and get ready option...
Then there is one that gets a guy ready....slower....but you can leave him up and throwing and he will remain warm without getting tired.
