Just wanted to say thanks for answering the questions and giving out this valuable info. I think you guys try to defend the developers a little bit too much but you both brought the business on this thread. I tend to stay away from complimenting people on the internet, but this whole thread was epic with the answers.

This has been way more important to solidifying my purchase than any screenshot, video, or magazine reveal. Thanks for everything.

MoM is exactly the same as last year...I knew and know that it won't be touched...so I didn't mention it to anyone once. And that's MY baby in this game.

Seriously?? You do realize the development team have bosses and they prioritize the dev cycle not Knight or anyone else here.
Trust me...I was there and witnessed knight bring up bugs and suggestions for MoM.

I am trying the mode after watching knight use it. If I remember correctly they even fixed a bug. And not to defend the devs, but they have to build the game for the masses and with limited time not everything can get added on to each year.

I wonder how better it would be for the *devs* (by which I mean programmers, designers, artists, etc., not management types) to go on a longer dev cycle, perhaps bi-annual or something. Not saying it's gonna ever happen, but just saying....

The current cycle is totally reasonable from a business standpoint of view (all sports being seasonal), but trying to squeeze in all the new, flashy, innovative things and then go on to a never-ending bug hunting/game tuning in an annual cycle doesn't look all that efficient...

I don't code for living right now but I can tell you that developing software on a tight deadline is NEVER fun... especially that someone pushing you to meet the deadline doesn't even understand how difficult it is that the devs are doing... There's always something to worry about, something that you know you can improve, but such new additions leading to unexpected bugs, etc., etc... soooo stressful, to say the least. And all that happening while you're sitting in front of computer. It's unhealthful.

You shouldn't blame the devs this year for neglecting a couple long-standing issues... There are so many new exciting additions to the game this year.

He's one of the 5 people who play the mode I think that qualifies him. No dev team is going to spend a ton of resources on something at less than 1% of the consumer base uses. Especially when franchise and RTTS needs time and resources. It's simple logistics if more people played the mode it would receive more time.

Better way to think about it is that Knight is such a HUGE contributor to this whole customer-feedback thing, *despite* that he's pretty much a MOM-only guy... If he wasn't taking the leadership, I wouldn't be surprised that the MOM mode gets even less attention from the devs.

MOM players are lucky that Knight is actually not good enough to hit in this game.

Knight, do players from the draft receive random equipment, stances, pitching motions, etc? If so I hope it's not like it was last year where randomization would sometimes not work and all players had gen 1 stance/motion and I hope to not see every other player with dreads and aged faces.

PS: with you guys playing the game nearly two months before release does this mean we could be seeing a patch to address or improve areas of the game?

Knight, is the team at SCEA planning on putting all their resources into the franchise mode next year?

It's my favorite feature of the game and being an offline franchise user I feel it falls short in almost every simulation sports game that's out there. I just want reassurance that franchise mode isn't going to put on the backburner year in and year out. I believe this is the second year in a row where nothing has really been added to franchise. Just touch ups.

That is straight-forward and should show people that you all have different teams focusing on different aspects of the game.

I don't like looking a year ahead, but like always, I'm interested in what you all come up with for the next iteration. I just hope that I'll have a chance to get to play it but who knows what I'll be up to next year.

Was just wondering. I think a deeper franschise mode would be the best selling point for a sports simulation game. But then again I'm probably just being biast. It's my favorite part of any sports game and always seems to fall short to the dreaded online play feature.

Great job by the way, to you and your team with all the added features in gameplay this year. Madden developers could learn a thing or two. Don't play the football games but can tell from what I read here on OS. Enough to keep me from spending any kind of cash on it. Not hatin, just the truth. March can't get here soon enough.

I never said MLB 13 wouldn't have a "deeper" franchise mode, just stated that it wouldn't be the focus of next years titles. We haven't finished with 12 yet, nor have we had a post morterm to see what we did well and not so well in 12. Until then nothing has been decided yet.

Just thought of a question while sitting here playing 11, will we be able to import created players off of the weekly roster updates into existing franchise?

Also let me say thank you to all of you guys tabarnes, knight, Russell and entire group for all the info. Whether the answers to our questions are what we want to hear or not, I for one appreciate that we get them answered!
