This is good, but you are using the wrong statistical metrics. You should be looking at OPS and SAR. What is her OPS (optimal s*xual position) and how does it relate to her SAR (s*x above replacement).

As for me, about to have my first kid so I am still torn as to how much I will be able to play 2012. In all reality, this might be the very last iteration of The Show I will be able to play. Anyone else out there have a newborn right around the release time of previous games?

I will sometimes play 2 out of 3 in a series, or if it's a team i don't feel like playing.

I don't have the time for 162 games so i pick and choose depending on what i want to do. I love messing with rosters and player movement so i tend to sim alot these days. Even in nba 2k, i shortened to 55 game season with random simming.

Hey man, I hear your concern. As a man who has three children, let me tell you ... you've still got to find time for yourself.

As awesome as being a dad is, you've got to find balance by finding a little time for "you".

And besides, your significant other will be on the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list for at least 6 weeks after the baby is born. So you'll have plenty of time to work on your OPS (Optimal Playtime for the Show). And when you have children, your AVG (After hours Virtual Gaming) goes through the roof.

So not only will you be a great father, but you'll have some killer stats to boost as well.

        Good luck and congrats.

Re: Unique ways to get deeper into dynasties?

Never considered simming in my life.

But for the show, with its crazy realism, it makes perfect sense to do the one every 3rd game. 54 losses, 54 wins, and 54 games in your hand. (obviously wont work out exactly like that, but you get what i mean)

this way you still have control over your season directly as a player, but NEED to make sure, as a gm, you have compiled a good enough squad to get you into the playoffs. so gives you both sides of the game, in terms of actual play and strategy.

truly cant wait for this game now.

i will do this in nba 2k12 too now. (need to find a good draft class file )

Re: Unique ways to get deeper into dynasties?

The discussion in this thread has been great. I might have to be open minded about simulating games this year. I truly want to get the franchise experience and I don't know if I'll be able to accomplish that by attempting to play all 162+ games.

I might go ahead and play one game per series like many have suggested. I am currently planning to use the Washington Nationals for my franchise. In order to have a player with all of "my stats", I will play every game Stephen Strasburg starts. For the series where he does not start I'll mix it up using the other pitchers.

I'm still torn at the moment on what to do! This idea does sound very reasonable though. Thank you for the ideas!

If I can make a suggestion....

If you are simming for the first time in your franchise....just go whole hog...meaning, no matter what the outcome of the game....go with it....no matter what happens on the injury front...deal with it. Don't look back.

Re: Unique ways to get deeper into dynasties?

I play 16 games in Madden, 32 in NBA 2K (1 versus each team + 3 bonus games of my choosing), and 64 (1 per series + a dozen bonus games of my choosing) in The Show. Usually end up playing several of the games vs. Cardinals and Yankees, then some more important divisional games down the stretch if I am competing for a playoff spot.

And of course, if/when I get to the playoffs, I play all of those games.

                Works really well for me.

Ill go with the 1 game per series for the first time too...I must admit im currently playing the WS in my MLB11 franchise, so u get the picture, 12 months in and i still havent finnished my 1st season(played every single game).

Now this year i do want to know how is post season, FA negotiations and all, so ill go with the new scheme , specially becuase the first season will be a really tough one for my powerless A`s

Love the ideas being presented here. Still need to choose one that fits me best but something that keeps me around 20-40 games a season, should work. I hope.

I'm thinking of making sure I get 30 games in before Sept. I choose which 30 games and maybe an unbalanced home/away schedule to maximize the other ball parks. When Sept comes, I can pick the most important game of each week (depending on division or WC race) if my team is still competitive (< 8 games back). So I'll be playing around 35 games before playoffs. With the PS3 and Vita, that should take me less than a month to complete a season.

Re: Unique ways to get deeper into dynasties?

not sure if this was mentioned yet, but what I do is...

I create two players (or just edit two in AA), pitcher and position player. Put them in AAA, sim first season.

Then start the 2nd year with the pitcher and position player on the roster and only play the games the created pitcher starts (I still sim some if I have a good record). This way I play about 35 or so games a season and dont get burnt out.

Also I edit that pitcher multiple times depending on what I feel like, one month he's a sinker baller, the next he's an upper 90s power pitcher. Keeps things fresh, gives franchise a bit of RTTS flavor and personalizes the game. It may not be realistic, but I play a lot of games and am not really a huge sports sim fan so I can accept some lack of reality in my sports game.

If you want to go the realistic route, I'd suggest playing games your ace starts if you dont want to use created players.

I always consider myself in spring training from release date until Knight & company's rosters go gold. I use this time to hone my skills. The best way to do this IMHO is to focus on either offense or defense a game at a time in franchise to set up real life situations.
One game, I'll play while batting, the next, I'll play while pitching. Sim to next half inning in between.
You can get in a lot of games VERY fast like this. (Gives me a chance to finish a season before restarting with the OSFM roster set of my choice)

That's basically what I'm planning on doing. Not sure how yet, but I figure if I do that while playing 2 games a day, I should easily completely a season in under a month. Should make it nice and easy to get through multiple seasons.

                              Can't wait for March 6th.

Not sure yet about how I will go about choosing how many games I'll play and how I will play them but here's something I did last year for the games played that helped get me through.

Game 1: If I am ever in the lead, I sim batting and pitch only; play both if it's tied; hit only if I am losing.

Game 2: Switch it to where I bat if I am leading, and sim pitching; play both if tied; and hit only if I am winning.

Switch it up just like that every game you play. Playing every 6th game seems to be the best option imo. Playing like this and only every 6th game with some played inbetween should get you through multiple seasons.
