First: Fantastic Video Quality. Nexus Rocks.

    Now:

I'm impressed you threw so many fb's to Werth. I would never have done that! I'm too scared of him.

I'm loving the fact that he TOOK strike 3

My Lord, how agonizing your video just made my wait

Could anybody that has access to a Best Buy store with the game record a video with A-Rod batting? I'd like to see his new stance a little more. Thanks!

Re: MLB 12 playable at Best Buy

Just got back from Best Buy, a ridiculous two hours spent standing there playing this game. Have a couple videos of Lincecum and the Giants playing at the new Marlins park, including a couple homeruns hit by Stanton and Morrison...will try to get them posted on here for you.

              The good and the bad:

              GOOD
As mentioned already, the weight of the ball. The angles of hits, the new sounds for the bat contact and pop of the mit... almost alone these make the game feel completely different.

The simple (meaning idea, not execution) addition of the camera cuts and broadcast feel make this game what I've been waiting for. Its total immersion. There were always moments that took you out of that and reminded you that you are playing a video game. Now its truly like watching a broadcast. Excellent.

New pitching animations where the pitchers look like they are throwing a ball with weight. Arm speed is better and it makes the ball seem lively, dangerous, and real!

Homerun cuts, player rounding the bases, jumbotron animations, cuts to the managers and frustrated pitcher. Perfection.

Somehow they improved the lighting again. By the 6th inning of night games, the pink/orange glow is all over the players and fields. Its stunning.

Crowd seemed better, lively and appropriate for the situations.

Hitting felt better, pitching felt better, fielding felt better. All around, its smoother, plays more realistically, and the new animations and sounds have a lot to do with that.

              BAD:
(and we are truly down to nitpicking now, which is a testament to how good this game is)

Would have liked to see new game intros. Same three camera cuts of the stadium during opening, feels a bit dead after three or more years.

As a Boston fan was hoping to see the standings update on the scoreboard in left.

Player editor additions are great, new shoes and arm sleeves, gloves etc. As a face editor, looking forward to seeing more options for things like hair (dreads, etc) and some minor face tweaks.

That old white flash transition and old animation after a win is still there and is glaring compared to the smooth broadcast feel for the rest of the game. Its only in the spot where it first shows the pitcher celebrate, but it stands out as old now.

New swing animations look amazing. The old one handed, legs off the ground one where they sorta look like little leaguers is there, and again seems glaring compared to the new ones.

Didnt get into franchise, seasons or anything else. Just simple exhibition play, and overall I was impressed. I can see me losing many hours to this game this year..something I did not do with 11.

Re: MLB 12 playable at Best Buy

Well... I can admit it here, I just got home from standing in a Best Buy for 2+ hours playing the game. The employees were all hanging out and watching and didnt seem to mind it, so I kept on playing!

I initially had to wait since the game offers the ability to do a 10GB install in order to speed up load times and make the game run faster. My first thought is that this will certainly help out with those of us who spend a lot of time on RTTS, which makes us spend hours in load screens after 2 at bats.

I played parts of 3 games, just to get a look at different times, cities, etc.

First game was my Rays vs Blue Jays. 2nd was Astros at Marlins ( to see the new ballpark) and then finally Dodgers vs Mets.

The game is incredible! The new pitching mechanics are beautiful! The new pulse pitching was a litle hard at first, but I love the way it plays.

The new hitting is amazing. The first thing I noticed was the immediate change in hit variety, including foul balls. The hitting/catching sound effects are also much improved.

Anyone in Tampa who wants to give it a shot, its the one in Citrus Park!

                  Can't wait until Monday night!

I was not expecting a big lighting update for MLB 12 The Show.

                      So it looks really cool?

                          Great footage N51, thanks.

I absolutely love the new "whip" action to the pitchers this year, they really look to throw the ball violently, which is what a real pitching mechanic truly is.

Much respect to all those taking their time to go to their local Best Buy and get footage for the community to enjoy.
