thanks for the pics Philliesfan. Wow you are right McCutchen does look horrible, that looks nothing like him. His face looked spot on last year. At least he has his dreads this year. Maybe next year they can make a complete McCucthen

The catcher, in the situation wants a 2-seamer, and you choose that pitch, maybe the confidence meter raises if that pitch is executed properly. Conversely, if you shake him off, maybe that hurts the confidence more if the pitch result was not a good one... someday.

I'll pass on this one. Shaking off the catcher has little to do with confidence being impacted. Back in my day when I pitched there was no such issue. The catcher gives a suggestion and the pitcher holds the trump card. There is no emotion or personal pride that interaction. To add it to The Show would be gimmicky and arcade.

Played it for a bit in West Hollywood last night.

New ball physics are going to make waiting for your pitch extremely important in having successful at bats and hard hit balls. I thought SD SCEA did a great job of this last year, but omparing the two years, I think '11 will prove to be the easier year to hit. I'm going to guess there is going to be a ton of comments of how hitting is too hard this year.

Pulse pitching is a game changer - I threw 5BB with Mike Leake (CIN) in the first inning. I pitched 4 innings and threw 6BB all together, so even after I adjusted to the new method, I was still throwing out of the zone. In another game with Kershaw (LAD) I threw 1BB in 4 innings of pitching. It's well implemented.

The game is familiar, but the two items mentioned above are enough for me to purchase the game. Can't wait to get my paws on it to really see more of the changes and play DD.

Not to disregard your comments, but I thought I was a god awful hitter in 11. I would get so frustrated sometimes that I couldn't hit that I would sim at bats.

While at CD playing the game I raked. I mean that too... I hit the crap out of the ball. I think the new camera angle and pitch speed made it ideal...

Heck I'm not even a "stick jockey" but I beat Nemesis in a game.(maybe he let me win )

So in my opinion I think hitting is easier.

That's interesting because I felt the exact opposite. I was actually frustrated and do not like the default batting cam - I'm a big advocate of custom cams.

One question: Were you raking within the 1st hour of batting? That's all the time I had and I felt I was hitting the ball best when sitting on a pitch within a zone. I'm sure I'll feel more comfortable when the game is sitting in my home!

I love that we can have completely different experiences playing the same game.

Yeah, I probably only played about 5 total games while there. I made a comment to the other guys that hitting felt so much easier.

He is listed as a free agent. Video coming later of all the free agents in the game.

                          No problem.

I didn't take notice. Pause the video when it gets to him and check out the graphs for him.

Does anyone know if the pure analog pitching is still available? I don't know if I was the only one who really enjoyed that style of pitching. I was never a real big fan of the meter pitching.

All the options are still there. Plus a new pitching method added for this year.

Yes, it is there, and it got a pretty nice upgrade.

The ball marker is much easier to see within the aiming mechanism, and you actually see some feedback with regards to flashing yellow and red, to differentiate the level of effort that you push forward on the stick.

I attempted to try and throw a Change Up with minimal effort forward, and then really pushing the R-Stick up to see if i could cause a speed difference, but for whatever reason, it did not seem to follow my pattern of effort. May have more to do with where you stop the ball on the meter, and the proximity to the "perfect" yellow line.

I did notice for sure, and if you read my comments earlier, it may have been the condition of the Best Buy Controller that had more of an effect on it, but the pitches were a lot less accurate on the HOF setting. You really had to be perfect on the stick, and I see that as a very nice change from last year and the relative ease with which you could throw 9 innings without a walk.

I am excited to try the Pulse Pitching again. I am certain, as with the Analog pitching from last year when it was new, with practice, you could learn the nuances of when to press the button, but my first time out with it, i had none that were the perfect small marker you are looking for.
