Yeh agree.. just wondering if there was anybody else using timing only since i couldnt find impressions on this mode...

Played about 8 hours yesterday and having a blast... the physics is the biggest game changer imo since the change from ps2 to ps3... its THAT big for me.

Pulse pitching is fantastic too, really gr8 idea(kudos to the designer who came up with this) its just a perfect mix of classic pitching(ratings based)+user input, loving it.

Woth mention too are the reworked and new pitching animations, the fluidity they give u is another game changer, u can really feel the whip out of pitchers hands(something The Show lacked a lot compared to that Japanese Baseball game)

I do think the OFs still a bit too fast and their arms are a bit too strong, but fixed that very quickly, other than that im very happy with this years game.

Got to say, same thing here for me with sliders in cpu v cpu mode...haven't touched a thing and it plays out beautifully and realistically...time will tell, but very balanced so far.

I played the game for about 45 minutes last night at Best Buy. First thing I noticed is that all of the batting options are available in the rookie difficulty setting. In previous games, you could use "Timing-Only" at the rookie level. This should be great news for the newbies and the ones struggling with the hitting difficulty (like me!).

I played a few innings at Marlins Park and Target Field. The lighting has been improved once again!! I'm really impressed with how far the series has come in this department.

I did notice that during the cut-scenes that the players all had a slight gray outline to them. If I looked at an instant replay, the outline wasn't there. I've seen this in previous editions but it seems more prevalent this year. Not a huge deal, but it does seem weird. I made sure the 3D mode was off, just in case that was it.

And yes, the ball physics are a game changer. Balls hit down the line have some life to them. Wow!

I'm right there with you. I was struggling with MLB 10, so this is great news.

Apologies if this is rather brief, but it's fantastic. Best baseball game I've ever played by a long, long way.

Only played two games, and lost both.

Tried pulse pitching with no ball display = awesome.

Tried Analog hitting will try Analog Hitting w/ Zone (no plate coverage). I think that blends the old pressing X and Analog.

              Ball Physics - AMAZING!

Will have more later in a review that I am writing for a website I am affiliated with.

I'll get to some more stuff on the PS3 version later, but right now all I can think about is playing RTTS with the Move after taking some BP...it's pretty fun.

And, I'm swinging early on offspeed and late on fastballs, for those worried about lag. The Eye seems to be picking up the Move sphere really well. I even managed to check a swing and see the check animation on screen (though only once, most other times I checked it didn't even register as a swing) The bat wiggling thing doesn't seem to trigger all the time though.

About to try out the pitching.

I tried it, but couldn't do it... My first baseman was actually off the bag both times. They were on low line drives, so maybe he was making an attempt to field it and thus wasn't covering the bag.

Just doing a quick sim through a season in franchise. I HIGHLY recommend 30 Team Control again. Trade logic so far doesn't seem any better. Angels are in first and traded CJ wilson to the Phillies for Chad Quails and a couple of minor leaguers. They also put Albert Pujols on the trading block. This was in May btw. Also I am the Orioles and was offered Roy Oswalt and some minor league guy by the Dodgers for Chris Tillman and I'm in dead last.

Lost my first game last night after picking it up at the midnight release, 2-0 my Red Sox losing to the Tigers. Verlander struck out 13.

Despite what I promised about trying the game at the defaults, the fielders are just too fast. I lowered their speed down 1 click, lowered arm strength down 1 click, and lowered baserunner speed to compensate for the flow of the game.

Lowered the Pitcher accuracy with Analog pitching down to one click up from zero, and consistency to the same.

Played a game with new sliders, and absolutely LOVE the new feel of the game. Next, a game with Pulse Pitching to check that out.

So far, this is a really good game.

One thing that is very impressive this year is the lack of "warping". You can see that all the animations are very clean, even in replays. From diving stabs to traps to ball on bat. The missing animations from within replays seem to be minimized.

Collision avoidance can be seen everywhere, and it's not just 2-player canned animations. I had a play where the ball was hit down the 1B line, the first baseman fielded it and the pitcher avoided him as he was attempting to cover first. At the same time, I just ran to tag the runner and he tried to avoid the tag, then avoided the pitcher who was in the same area!

They have mores stats that are shown in the ticker league leaders too. I saw OBP, SLG% and Assists for a few. Also, in my 'exhibition franchise' (I start a season, and if I want to play an exhibition matchup, I just pick any random game for any team and play within that season) the OSDs are much improved, and the commentary reflects the league leaders when they are pitching/batting... for instance, Ryan Braun was leading the league in avg. and Matt V. would say "and he throws strike 1 to the current NL batting avg. leader". Random: I also saw that Braun had a 33-game hitting streak in that season too, lol.

                            A couple quick hits:

-Hurry up throws from the RF need tweaked badly. In the first game I played I saw two runners get thrown out at first from RF. You can go an entire season without seeing that, but I've seen it twice in five innings.

-I'm not really a fan of the new player cards. I think the smaller bars without numbers make it more difficult to see a players attributes. Plus, there is no way to see a pitcher's pitch attributes that I know of (crv velocity, etc).

-Other than that, I really like what I'm seeing so far.

As for the guys saying they are throwing guys out from RF on singles, yes, it may be possible, but its also something thats very rarely even attempted in real life (yes i know it has been done) and is seen as something of a no-no?

Not something ill do, would feel cheap, if a guy gets it out to RF hes earnt his single.

I guess what im saying is...just dont throw it!
With all due respect, that seems like dumbing down on my skills, which I don't think should be necessary. You are correct, no one tries it in real baseball, but that's more so because they know they aren't going to have a realistic shot at throwing the runner out and don't want to risk an error trying. I did it twice in 4 innings. I'm not saying it's terrible, but it needs tweaking as I shouldn't have to "not throw it" in order to see a realistic result from an ordinary single to right.

Man, this game made me laugh. I am playing O's vs Nats. I manage to get 5.1 innings out of Zach Britton. Bullpen manages to get the last two outs of the 6th so I am down 2-1.

7th inning rolls around and just like the real Orioles the wheels fall off. 10 men come to the plate and it takes three pitchers to get out of the inning and when it was over it was 7-1. I swear it was like watching the real Orioles play. I know its gonna be a long season for me this year using the Orioles.
