Re: MLB 12 The Show - Q&A Thread
I know someone has probably asked this question but here goes. MLB added a second wild card in each league. Will that extra playoff game be added in MLB 12 as a update or something?Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Q&A Thread
It's not in the game as of now, nobody knows for sure if SCEA will be able to patch it in or not, but most people are saying that they probably won't/cantComment

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Q&A Thread
Can someone please post HD video of season game like after maybe first month of season? Be interested in what stat overlays look like and what the analysts sound like at that point. I'm a huge Yanks fan but how bout giving the Dbacks some love against say the Dodgers? But any two teams would be great. Thanks.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Q&A Thread
SETTINGS and SAVE Question:
in MLB 12 :
1. do you still have to load the individual settings when you play SEASON or RTTS ( last year you had a complicated proceeder where you had to save different things ) every time you begin to play.
I just loaded up my franchise after booting up and the custom sliders that were saved in franchise were auto loaded
2. when you make a online roster update and you save it , lets say as "save march 10" , is then this your actual roster ( CURRENT ROSTER) every time you begin to play:so when you play the next day you don't have to load this roster or do you have to load (this SAVE ) every time you begin to play.
Was a bit confused with the conception DEFAULT / CURRENT etc
Question about batter walk ups and stat overlays. Last year (and most years if I recall correctly), in the batter's first PA, it would show his stats for the season, but on every other PA that game, it would show 0-1 Strikeout, or 1-3 Single etc without showing his updated season stats.
What do the overlays show this year? I'd like to see that game's stats (1-3 Single, Run) but also updated season stats.Joshua:

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Q&A Thread
For guys with Vita impressions...
I see the Advanced Fast Play mode is very fast, but I'm wondering if there is any way to slow down the game a bit. On PS3, there is a gameplay option for Pitcher (or Pitch) Delay, which you can set to fast, normal, or slow I believe to insert a varying amount of inactivity between pitches. Is that option in the Vita version at all?Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Q&A Thread
Would someone mind checking to see what helmet the Mets are wearing in their home whites (no pinstripes). Last year the helmet was tied to the jersey. I was wanting to know if they've fixed this. This was probably an issue for other teams as well.Comment

I'd love to see Aroldis Chapman's new pitching delivery! If anyone could make a ten second video it would be greatly appreciated! ThanksComment

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Q&A Thread
I haven't decided whether or not I'm going to buy the game yet. One of the issues that is important to me is for them to improve their drafts and also the progression of those draft picks.
For example, yes, there are certain things like runs/9 that affect the game play but then when you sim, their overall rating has an affect on their performance, so the lack of progression in certain attributes affects their overall performence because there was a lack of progression in certain attributes.
I'd also like for someone to comment on the difference between the draft prospects this year and last year. They said they improved this and have made the prospects more compartmentalized (ie there were guys who are good at speed and lacking in other areas). More specifically, for me, I would like to know if there is any way of knowing that you're drafting speed or power. I thought the scouting was way too vague in the past and needed to be improved. I was hoping with the changes that they said they made, this might have improved.
I'm someone who enjoys the game for having the ability to build a franchise and this is wrecked if they don't get the drafting and progression (moreso the progression) right.Comment

For those wanting to know if the Rangers Stadium is correct..Brett verified to me that it is.
Edit: The work isn't even done IRL, it's supposed to be completed on March 20th...GREAT JOB SCEA.

Certain things do no change much in real life either. In the game pitch speed does not progress, but in real life most 20 year olds throw as hard as they will anyways. In most cases they lose velocity.
I would like to see speed be static instead of progressing. But like I stated there are drafted players that become the top power hitters in baseball as well as the top contact hitters.Comment

Progression works as it should. Players improve based on Potential and age etc. My only complaint is that many of the A and B's come in too low rated. This is something you can edit.

I agree with you on speed. It's problematic if you want to build your team around speed. First of all the times are meaningless. Then there's nothing in the scouts notes that really foretell whether a prospect is a speed threat. There can be some variation/improvement but guys should not be entering the league with 55 spd and ending up at 80 spd.
And these are just some of the problems.
I'm glad that everyone likes the new ball physics but I really hope someone gets around to some of these issues which affects the long term playability.Last edited by GoMets1986; 03-04-2012, 01:37 PM.Comment
