Lost game two vs the Marlins, 9-1 8O

My first HR, 2B Eugenio Velez.. I started all backup players this game and the Marlins did have their starters in as well as Josh Johnson pitching. He struck me out 4 times in 3 innings.

I've turned off the throwing meter and had only 1 error, yeay! Waino was hammered for 4 runs in the first inning.

It's neat to see what this spring training invites bring to the table though.. will make my decisions on how they play.

So 1 month is in the books in my giants chise and I'm 12-11...2nd place in the division behind colorado,on the season. Difficulty set to hall of fame . Lots of close games , opposing pitchers for some reason have great eyes and foul almost everything off an get at least 1 hit off me per game -_____- .. But other than that my chise is fantastic. Starting a home series against the marlins tomorrow

got within 1.5 games back of the NL West but went on a skid. Now I'm 6.5 back at 33-31 with the Padres.

        I play 1 game a series if its a 3 gamer and 2 if its a 4 game series.

Pitch and hit when its tied. If i lead I pitch only and fast forward when hitting, when I trail I hit only.

im in year 2 with my Cubs chise. I signed a few free agents(damon to play LF, derrek lee to play first base, pudge to backup soto) to fill a few gaps. I moved soriano to second base as thats where he used to play. I also traded back for Carlos Zambrano as he belongs in a cubs uniform! But After a miserable fiirst half to year 1 I made a few trades and actually don't know if I ripped off the computer or not so I don't know if I want to restart or not....although the trades i made were all to contending teams looking for a playoff push at the deadline, some of the trades I made at the deadline as I tried to shed salary include:

Matt garza(8.2million) traded to yankees for ivan nova and B potential 2nd baseman.

Ryan dempster and damon traded to braves for julio tehrehan as braves needed a left fielder and pitcher.

Derrek Lee, pudge, and david dejesus traded to padres for yonder alonso.

Did I rip off the computer? Should I just restart?

My current line up after free agent signings include:

            1st: anthony rizzo
            2nd: soriano
            3rd:stewart
            Short: castro
            Left: alonso
            Center: brett jackson
            Right: kosuke(resigned in offseason)
Catcher: some C potential minor leaguer with a B potential.

            Pitching staff:

            Zambrano
            Nova
            Tehrehan
            Ryan dempster(resigned in free agency)
            randy wells

Kerry wood & marmol in bullpen.

u absolutely ripped off the CPU in all 3 trades...there's no way the braves would give up their top prospect for a back-of-the-rotation starter and an over-the-hill, defensively challenged DH.....Considering what the Padres gave up to get Alonso, ur giving up a bag of balls...Again, 3 old guys that nobody would want if u gave them away for free.....At least the Garza trade is SOMEWHAT believable...but still, they wouldn't give up a young, cheap, up and coming starter ALONG with a highly-rated prospect for Garza

While i respect ur opinion...the braves had tommy hanson out for the season and were thick in the playoff race so were looking for a quality pitcher to replace him and fill their void in left field as well...the padres were also trying to make the playoffs in a surprising weak nl west...so wanted some veterans to fill some voids....I understand it wouldn't be a fair trade on april 1st...but needy teams near the deadline? did I really rip them that bad under the circumstances?

it wouldnt be a fair trade at any point....Ryan Dempster at this point in his career is a 5th starter.....Johnny Damon at this point in his career is a part-time DH....u HONESTLY think the braves would trade their best prospect for two over-the-hill guys no matter how dire their situation was?...Same concept with your Padres trade....Derek Lee is like 40...Pudge is older then my grandfather and DeJesus is halfway decent outfielder whose best days are behind him.....Reds give up Alonso AND Grandal for Latos....ur giving up your trash for another team's treasure.....Sounds like a complete rip-off to me....

Okay. Thank you for ur opinion man. I want to keep my franchise fairly real and fair and it sucks that the trade logic is messed up. Any suggestions on getting it fair? Is there anything special u go by?

All of those trades are unrealistic and would NEVER, EVER happen under any circumstances.

The braves one litterally had me laughing.

Not trying to be mean but yes you did rip off the computer and you dont have to restart because its your decision if you want to play realisticly or not

well, in the Cubs case, there's not that many young veterans who are cost-effective to trade for either Alonso or Teheran....nobody wants to absorb Soriano's contract(although in the game, he's only makin 2.4M)....Byrd is 34....DeJesus isn't anything special....Stewart's been a bust....need another year of Barney...Soto is uninspiring.....so of your position players, the only ones i'd make a run at are Castro and Rizzo( im referrin to the currrent rosters).....and none of their Pitchers are worth Teheran or Alonso....So unless u wanna package Rizzo with another prospect or two and send him back to SD for Alonso, there's not much u can do unless u wanna wait for the OSFM rosters when u can trade your real top prospects for either guy....When i make a trade, i go by age, salary, potential, fairness for both teams, etc.

Yea the cubs don't have much to trade with lol...I hope the osfm come out soon tho! But in alondo's case the guy said they had to give up alondo and someone else for matt latos...that means alonso is only half of matt latos...I still think the padres would take it if they wanted to make a run at the playoffs and didn't need alonso but needed 2 or 3 final pieces...lee,pudge, and dejesus...while they are old...they are solid veterans...alonso was only a C with an A potential on the rosters I used while lee was a B, pudge was a C and dejesus was a B...so while they were older they were solid vets...I think im going to restart when osfm come out or a roster close to it and try to keep things a little more realistic and just use judgement on if a cpu is getting ripped since its obviously not fixed like they said it was...im sure at the deadline in year 1 ill be a seller and will try to unload some players who are in final year(garza, dempster) for just a few prospects...does performance effect the trade being accepted tho? Maybe they are fixed and they just took It due to them having great seasons? Garza was 7-2 with a 2.56 era and dempsters era was just over 3.50...I know lee was hitting close to .280 with 14 home runs...

Current season stats dont affect the trade logic

                            overall attributes,rating.potential,overall etc. effect it

I started off 2-2 in my Twins franchise. The only roster move I made was signing Vlad Guerrero to play DH or fill in at RF.

However after the good start to the season, it went downhill from there. The offense has disappeared, the pitching is inconsistent, and Liriano damaged his elbow and is out for a month.

                                My usual lineup is:

                                1. Carroll
                                2. Span
                                3. Mauer
                                4. Morneau
                                5. Willingham
                                6. Guerrero
                                7. Revere
                                8. Dinkelman
                                9. Valencia
Supporting Leeds United, Colorado Rockies, Detroit Lions and the Colorado Avalanche!
