    Tough call.

If I can snag him in a realistic deal, and IF MIL is out of it, I may put together a package for him.

I just think the asking price will be too high. And with that, I pretty much insist that I only make offers that can happen in real life anyway.

That said, probably in the 2012 offseason during FA. If he's available...

That's pretty awesome man! I'd be through through the roof if I were you.
Yeah, its been awesome. He continues to improve at an astounding rate, and its really helped out my team, especially the incredible power.

I've been playing all week (just got done with summer), and am dangerously close to losing my playoff spot to the braves with 5 games left to play. I'll give an update tonight after I finish the season (will probably try and play at least 3 or 4, if not all of the games).

He's been in Triple-A for a majority of the season. I just can't seem to hit with him. The rosters I'm using are obviously before he burst onto the scene and made a name for himself.

If Milwaukee is out of it it shouldn't that hard to make a deal with them. Being Milwaukee I think if I was out of it at the deadline I'd take a major league ready A and maybe a minor league A for him.

Man, I love reading about all of the Franchises going on. Its awesome how many different ways a franchise can go, and how many different things that can happen.

A quick update, I am now 2.0 games ahead of the Braves with three games to go. I'm feeling confident with Worley, Halladay, and Hamels being the next three to hit the mound against a wretched Brewers squad (Braun has been fantastic however, hitting a league leading .345 with 35 HR's).

Starting a three-game series with the Cardinals in a battle of the NL's top two teams. My Braves enter at 20-12 and the Cardinals are 21-12. Decided this was a good time to bump it back up to All-Star.

Won the first game 5-0. Jurrjens pitched a six-hitter; got into a little trouble in the 9th, but a double play helped him preserve the shutout. Chipper belted two homers and had four RBIs. He's just been ridiculous this season for me. He's now batting .435 with six homers and 25 RBIs.

                Bengerman's Phillies Franchise (Year Two)

                Records:

                Phillies: 100-62
                Braves: 95-67
                Marlins: 82-80
                Nationals: 80-82

                Notes:
                • Other notables include: Reds (111-51), Cardinals (97-65), Diamondbacks (103-59), Yankees (99-63), Red Sox (96-66), Blue Jays (91-71), Tigers (100-62), Rangers (103-59).
                • That has to be some kind of record for 100 win teams. Holy crap, the league was really lopsided this year.
                • How'd you like to be the Blue Jays or the Braves? Each winning 90+ games and not making the playoffs. Ouch.
                • It wasn't easy for my Fightin' Phils though. I went on to win my last 8, but with 10 games to play, the Braves were only down 1.0 games.
                • The Phillies were... BA (17th), Runs Scored (11th), Home Runs (13th), Stolen Bases (8th), and ERA (1st).
                • NL League Leaders were... BA (Votto, .354), Triples (Braun, 13), HR's (Votto, 43), RBI (Votto, 130), Stolen Bases (Bourn, 67), Wins (Hanson, 20), Saves (Marshall/Papelbon, 60), ERA (Worley, 2.29), Strikeouts (Kershaw, 250).
                • AL League Leaders... BA (Cabrera, .345), Triples (Crisp, 14), Home Runs (Fielder, 57), RBI (Fielder, 155), Stolen Bases (Crisp, 80), Wins (Buchholz, 20), Saves (Betancourt, 52), ERA (Verlander, 2.80), Strikeouts (Verlander, 265).
                • Man, was it close toward the end. I believe I held a 14.5 game lead over Atlanta at one point, and as soon as they traded McCann, Sizemore, and Ramirez, they surged back. Their pitching was incredible towards the end.
                • I'm not looking forward to playing the Reds, who absolutely dominated this year. Votto and Bruce were both absolute beasts. I still think my Pitching is better than theirs, although Cueto has been very good for them.
                • What a year my pitching staff had. Halladay was the only one with a down year.
                • I called up Brown with a couple of weeks to hit for an injured Ichiro. Ichiro is back now, but Brown whacked the ball the entire time he was up, hitting .292, 3 HR's, and 2 SB's.

                Stats (Hitting):

                Ichiro: .263, 8 HRs, 50 RBI
                Rollins: .246, 15 HRs, 57 RBI
                Mayberry Jr: .262, 34 HRs, 99 RBI
                Howard: .273, 34 HRs, 94 RBI
                Pence: .279, 25 HRs, 101 RBI
                Utley: .245, 15 HR, 51 RBI
                Stewart: .277, 19 HR, 50 RBI
                Polanco: .254, 5 HR, 36 RBI
                Chooch: .278, 7 HR, 42 RBI

                Stats (Pitching):

                Halladay: 3.92 ERA, 15-9, 180 K's
                Lee: 2.71, 17-8, 201 K's
                Hamels: 3.30, 14-8, 191 K's
                Worley: 2.29, 16-7, 168 K's
                Blanton: 3.60, 11-9, 191 K's

                Papelbon: 1.50, 60 SV's, 70 K's
                Stutes: 1.98 ERA, 6-2, 83 K's
                Bastardo: 2.17, 55 K's

Currently at May 21st in my Yankees franchise sitting 1 game behind the Red Sox. The Red Sox are playing great baseball in my franchise. Right now the AL east is a 2 team race. Here are the standings on May 21st:

Thanks Heroes! And yeah, Votto was absolutely dominant this year. I was lucky enough to miss him earlier in the year, as he had a hamstring issue that sidelined him for a little while. Unfortunately, I did not miss him in the playoffs.

He went 2-2, I walked him 3 times (once intentional), and went on to get thrashed 14-6 by the Reds in my first playoff game. I knew it was a mistake throwing a struggling Doc in game one, but I seem to have unwarranted confidence in him this year. He threw 5, and let up 6 ER's (he left the game with a score of 5-6). In the 6th, Heisey hit a Grand Slam for the Reds, and then I got into some more trouble in the 8th. By far my worst pitching performance of the year. I'm hoping Lee handles them better.

                        I hope so too.

I would have went with Halladay also. Though a 3.90 is bad for him, it's phenomenal for anyone human; Halladay is not.

I think Lee and Hamels should get the job done though. They'll neutralize the big lefty bats in that Cincy order.

                        Tough loss, bro.

I was hoping you'd be right. I just played game 2, and Lee just couldn't get it done. He let up 5 in 6 innings, and while I was able to keep it at 5, I couldn't make much of a comeback, as I lost 3-5.

So now I'm down to my last breath, and it looks like they'll be throwing Cueto again. I'll put Cole on the mound, and if I win this one, I'll likely choose between Worley and Halladay for game 4. Worley will be available in the bullpen if it gets to that.

                            Down 0-3?

                            Tough call considering Worley's season.

I'd go for broke. Halladay in game 4. Tough call either way. Worley was a stud for you.

I would go with Worely just because he was probably your best arm in the rotation this year, but if he gets in trouble just unload with Doc and your 3 monsters in the pen.

                                BenGerman,

Your posts have inspired me to do a Phillies franchise. I don't like to sim games, so I will try to play all 162. I'm starting with Utley and Howard on the DL, and my plans are to call them both up at some point in May.

It seems like I'm going to have a lot of low scoring games. I got just one hit on Opening Day, and it would have been a groundout if the infield wasn't playing in. Instead it wound up driving in the only run of the game. I beat the Pirates 1-0, with Halladay giving up just 3 hits in 8.2 innings. I may end up calling up Utley and Howard earlier if I struggle too much with this offense.
