Phillies are firmly in first place up 10 games in front of the Marlins and Nationals.

They had Hamel on the block, he has an expiring contract and he is their number 3 who will garner #1 money. Ramirez has a friendly contract with 2 years left and he is an "A" potential former All-Star that can play SS or 3B. Polanco is 36, expiring contract. Probably his last year (if he retires).

I offered Hanely for both and they bit. Hamels, Johnson and Burele will be a nice 1,2,3.

I plan on seeing if Dominguez can win the 3B job next spring. Dobbs is on the roster too. And Polanco obviously will start for me the rest of the season at that spot.

I think the trade is realistic from a cap standpoint. Plus the Phills wanted a young stud like player like Hanely.

Just won the aces home opener 4-3 in a walk off home run by a pinch hitter named David winfree who also was the player of the game. Barry enright pitched pretty good going 5 innings allowing 5 hits and 2 runs but getting 5 strikeouts on the way. Although enright pitched good he did not get the win as the aces closer mike DeMark got the win. Next game will be he baybears second game in their series against the braves.

I am playing as the Braves and have a losing record of 15-40. Huddie and Jurrjens are both struggling with ERA's over 4.50. I see that the Dbacks has Cahill on the block. I thinking of trying to make a trade for him. He has a 5yr deal in place and he is younger than Hudson.
I also noticed that the Rays have the lefty Matt Moore on the block as well. He has a 4yr deal in place.

The Rays are seeking RP and C for Moore. I have to check out what the Dbacks want for Cahill. I plan to play at least til next version of the Show comes out. So its something I am thinking of.

Playing a Cubs franchise......loving every minute of it thus far. I personally leave the CPU to trade as it wants, I cant over ride trades without total control so there is some serious powerhouse teams in the NL with me right now but here is the breakdown.

Im just starting Sept and managed to climb within 4 games of the division leading Brewers and a game back of the Reds who are stupid good with the trades they made. I aquired a few people before the trade deadline:

              1) Colby Rasmus,Yunel Escobar, Sergio Santos (Trade for an A prospect and Darwin Barney)

              2) Jim Thome (1 Year contract was released by the Phillies)

My final trade could not have gone any better for me, I acquired Neftali Feliz from the rangers off the trade block, They hadn't used him all season but since bringing him into my starting 5 he is 6-1 with 60 K's and a 1.45 ERA.

I'm hoping to make a serious push for a playoff spot but dont expect to fair too well against some of the other teams in the NL given my starting 5 aren't too good but have managed to get the job done all season, ill have to rely pretty heavy on the bullpen to finish out games which may run me into some trouble.

If you are going for realism the Rays won't be giving up Matt Moore and the DBacks would want at least an A and B for Cahill considering they traded Ryan Cook, Collin Cowgill, and Jarrod Parker to the A's in the offseason for a package of Cahill and Craig Breslow. I would rather try and trade for Cahill seeing as they have Skaggs and Bauer ready for the majors and Archie Bradley a year away.

Just won second game with the baybears in 12 innings to move them to 2-0. The final score was 3-2. Player of the game was Bobby borchering who now has player of the game twice. This time he went 3 for 5 with a pair of doubles skaggs pitched for the bears today and he was good. He went 5 innings allowing 6 hits 2 runs but getting 9 strikeouts. Although he pitched good he didn't get the win as my reliever Jason lane gets the win with my closer Evan Marshall getting the save. Next game is the aces as the try to get their second win of the season against the sky sox. Wade Miley will be starting.

Naw I am not going for realism. Trying to move high priced 1yr contracts for multi yr contracts. Since I am losing with what I got!

Im just going to say the athletics have such a great bullpen!

Fuentes,Balfour,Devine at the back end. Blevins has been great all year long coming in to face leftys. De Los Santos has been a strikeout machine. Ryan Cook has been decent also. Athletics are a really fun team to play with.

                        AL Central
                        Tigers (58-29, -)
                        Indians (48-37, 9)
                        Twins (44-41, 13)
                        White Sox (36-49, 21)
                        Royals (36-49, 21)

                        AL West
                        Angels (48-38, -)
                        Rangers (47-38, .5)
                        Mariners (42-45, 6.5)
                        A's (40-45, 7.5)

Notes: McCann, Uggla, Chipper and Kimbrel are my All-Stars. Chipper has cooled off. After flirting with .400 most of the season, he's down to .368 and has been stuck on 13 HRs for awhile. Uggla has been on fire. In April, I was worried about his power numbers. But he's up to .300 now with a league-leading 23 HRs and 54 RBIs. McCann is the favorite to win the NL MVP with a .334 average, 22 HRs and league leading 64 RBIs. Halladay is the CY Young favorite with a 14-2 record and 2.97 ERA. In the AL, Fielder is the MVP favorite with a .339 avg., 37 HRs and 93 RBIs. Verlander is the CY Young favorite with a 10-3 record and 1.96 ERA.

I've made two trades, sending Brandon Hicks to the Reds for Willie Harris. Accepted an offer from the Blue Jays of Casey Janssen and Henderson Alvarez for Jairo Asencio. Looking to flip Alvarez for a SS before the deadline. Jack Wilson was my starting SS most of the first half, but I finally benched him for Pastornicky. Venters continues to struggle with a 6.17 ERA. Hanson is my best starter in terms of ERA at 2.88, but has a 6-7 record. Minor is 8-4 but with a 4.94 ERA (and that's after a shutout in his last start).

Other moves: The Indians (who are on a 12-game winning streak entering the break) dealt Chisenall for Rolen just before the break. I guess they're all in for the wild card. The Rockies dumped salary sending Helton, Ramon Hernandez and Casey Blake to the Mets for Bobby Parnell. Arizona traded away Cahill, then signed Oswalt to take his place. The Rangers got Alonso from the Padres, but it cost them Colby Lewis, Scott Feldman and Craig Gentry.

I just wanted to start off by thanking OS members for great rosters and OS for providing us a place to post all about our experiences we have with our games.!
But to move forward, I have started a franchise with the D'Backs and want to let Bauer stay in AAA for awhile before bringing him to big leagues. But now since Kennedy broke his hand (out 2-3 months) in first game of season. Is the only logical move to bring him up? Or should I trade for a veteran starter (one year left in contract) to let him upgrade in minors some more? Thanks for any help!

Bring either Bauer or if you can Skaggs as they are both really good. Do not trade away Kennedy as he is basically your ace.

Trading Kennedy was never on the table, but I was thinking of trading a few prospects for a solid veteran or 5th starter. But if moving Bauer or Skaggs is the right move, I'll try moving one up. Thank you!

Okay part II position players for 2012. Hope somewhat interesting. Next up top prospects and expectations for 2012.

                                2012 White Sox Position Players

                                Catchers

                                Felix Osuna R 33years old 2011 .250AVG 15HR 50RBI
The veteran workhorse Osuna put up solid numbers last season and is fair behind the plate. The problem is he is aging and we can’t assume the same type of production. We can live with a decline but other spots in the lineup will have to make up the difference.

                                Paul Johnson R 25years old 2011 .254AVG 1HR 30RBI (second position 1B/3B)
Our organizational depth at catcher is weak (hey I inherited this ask my predecessor), and Johnson is the prototypical backup catcher. He is fair defensively and a bottom of the order bat.

                                First Base

                                Theo Foreman R 28years old 2011 .312AVG 38HR 98RBI
Okay think Frank Thomas from the right side. Foreman is the team. By far our top offensive producer and a perennial challenger for the MVP.

                                Second Base

                                Brent Wilson S 27years old 2011 .284AVG 7HR 44RBI (second position 3B/1B)
Wilson continues to develop into a productive second baseman. He has an above average glove and good speed. If he can pump the average up a bit we have our long term solution at second.

                                Third Base

                                Benny “The Hawk” Nakamura S 29years old 2011 .265AVG 19HR 86RBI
When we had the chance to acquire Benny we jumped at it. We look at him as a middle of the order bat. He has top plate discipline and we believe in the new environment of Chicago will improve both his average and power numbers.

                                Shortstop

                                David Williams R 33years old 2011 .259AVG 7HR 66RBI
David was actually productive for us last year but is on the down side of his career. His glove work is fair at best and at 33 his bat continues to slow. Lets hope he exceeds expectations.

                                Ray Carrillo S 20years old (second position 1B, 2B, 3B)
A young Louis Sojo? Every team needs a guy like Carrillo he can play all over the infield is an above average fielder and has decent if not great speed. On top of that he bats from both sides of the plate. He should get plenty of time spelling the regulars.

                                Outfield

                                Orlando Perez LF/CF R 26years old 2011 .250AVG 20HR 60RBI
Perez was a throw in as part of the Sanders deal. We thought he may develop into a leadoff hitter. He surprised everyone by showing considerable power and RBI production. We are not sure what to make of him, he has to cut down on the strikeouts, but Perez will start the year as our leftfielder and hopefully will continue to be productive.

Jared Levin LF S 22years old (second position OF/3B)
Levin had a fair spring and provides a switch hitting option off the bench. He can also play some third which is a plus.

Fred Branch LF L 25years old (second position OF)
Our scouts think Branch’s development is limited but all he has done in the minors is hit. He provides a left handed bat option and should get some playing time against righties in the outfield and at DH.

                                Antonio Rosas CF R 34years old 2011 .250AVG 31HR 99RBI (second position OF)
Rosas has been a rock and had another productive year in 2011. Problem is the bat and legs are slowing and we can’t count on the same numbers in 2012. The hope is that by sharing time in center with Perez he can stay healthy and a key part of our offense.

                                Jim Schmitt CF R 27years old 2011 .265AVG 7HR 30RBI (second position OF)
Our scouts think Schmitt can develop into a productive regular but I have not seen it. His production in 2011 was not what we are looking for in a corner outfielder. Let’s hope for better things in 2012. As of now he will be sharing time with the left handed Branch.

                                Miguel Terrero RF R 26years old 2011 .239AVG 22HR 73RBI
We have a lot invested in Terrero. He has cannon for an arm and a sweet swing. He under produced in 2011 but we think he can evolve into a 270/30/100 type of hitter. He also takes a good deal of walks perfect for the middle of our lineup.
