I usually play with the Tigers, but I decided to take a swing with the Cubs and rebuild them, I've been succeeding so far as I'm in year 4 and have just made it to the World Series to meet the Tigers, I knew they had a good lineup, but I really had no clue who they picked up until I went into my first game. Here's the notable players in their lineup:

Austin Jackson, Brennan Boesch, Miguel Cabrera, Alex Avila, Prince Fielder, Albert Pujols, Ben Zoberist, and Alcides Escobar.

All of these players have at least a .290 average, and the big 3 (Fielder, Cabrera, Pujols) have at least 40 HR's on the season. Now I know why they're defending champions looking to repeat.

In the good news section, they do not have Verlander... Because I traded for him last off season, giving up 5 players to get him. My team is built around superb pitching (Verlander, Jeremy Hellickson, Clayton Kershaw, and Matt Garza are my rotation) and excellent defense (I've picked up Kevin Yukolis (sp?), Ichiro, and Suzuki in FA).

My lineup doesn't swing the bats really well, so I'm not going to win a run contest with the Tigers, how would you guys handle their lineup?

    1. Austin Jackson (r) Ben Zobrist (l)
    2. Brennan Boesch (both)
    3. Miguel Cabrera (both)
    4. Prince Fielder (both)
    5. Albert Pujols (both)
    6. Alex Avila (both)
    7. Escobar (l) Zobrist (r)
    8. Ryan Raburn (l) Gardner (r)
    9. Escobar (r) Gardner (l)
    I'd cry mostly...

Whos a cheap closer you guys do well with.. In my Twins franchise were I was 100 games in Capps had a bunch of blown saves and a .313 average againts. My new one with Scott's rosters he has a infinite ERA. 3 games in I've had 5, 4, and a 3 run lead in the bottom of the ninth only to be blown by him two and a half times and Perkins another half of a time. I should be 3-0 instead i'm 0-3 and this is going to kill me so I need some suggestions before I break a controller haha.

In my last chise I got him off waivers in the first week and he had a 1.98 ERA for me. I could try him in a closers role. Capps got his first save at least.. got 3 runs in the 8th to get a 5-4 lead over the angels, brought Capps in and he had a 1-2-3 inning with a K... I was super nervous to pitch to Trout, Kendrick and Pujols though. Still don't trust him at all.

He is the Closer in real life. If you dont want him you can try for Kimbrel fron the braves or the Orioles closer.

              Cole Hamels makes Marlins debut.

The Miami Marlins sent some shockwaves around the league right after the AS game when they sent their franchise 3B Hanely Ramirez to the Phillies for left handed pitcher Cole Hamels (10-4) , veteran 3B Placido Polanco, and AA Pitcher Trevor May (A potential). The trade was in the works for over 3 weeks as the main sticking point was making sure Hamels would give every opportunity to the Marlins to resign him to a long term extension this coming winter. Hamels assured the Marlins he was very excited to make Miami his potential home. With that handshake the Marlins then really pushed hard for Trevor May, a 6'5' flame thrower who has a ton of potential to make this team next spring in a long relief role and possible starter depending on how the off-season goes with some expiring contracts with Anibal Sanchez and Ricky Nolasco (who is currently in AAA after being sent down for Wade Leblanc).

The Marlins lost a heartbreaker the night before with Strasburg out dueling Mark Burele 5-2.

Hamels got off to a uneven start in the first half inning. He struck out the first hitter before walking Wyerth, and then giving up a single to Zimmerman. Bryce Harper then sent a shot to LC which drove in both baserunners giving the Nationals an early 2-0 lead.

Hamels then settled down as the Marlins went to work at the plate. In the end the Marlins scored 8 runs on a super efficient 8 hits while Hamels went 7 strong innings giving up 3 runs, walking 2 and striking out 9. Steve Chisick gave up a run in a 1/3 of an inning, Ardolis Chapman (acquired for Omar Infante in June) came right in and shut the door and then Heath Bell pitched a flawless ninth. Logan Morrison continues his rampage on the National League driving in 3 to give him a team leading 67 RBI's (3rd in the NL) and up his NL leading BA to .367, Gaby Sanchez drove in 2 runs and Donnie Murphy went yard for his second HR of the year.

The 4 game set is tied at 1-1.

A full July report will be posted in a couple of weeks.

Playing as the Braves. I just had another outstanding pitching effort from one of my starter. Game 2 of the series versus the Marlins. Hanson 7IP 2h 0ER 7K. Uggla went 2-4 2B & 2R HR 2RBI. My bullpen gave an ER, but Kimbrel closes the door for his 14SV. I won 4-1. I extended my winning streak to 3. I couldn't extend Prado 20 game hitting streak. I was 36 games from the record. Going for the sweep in Game 3 Beachy 1-3 3.97ERA vs. Sanchez 4-3 4.14ERA.

So cheesed..played one game per series with the Jays in 2012...was in first with a month left. The bats died and I missed the wildcard by ONE GAME. Restocked this year, anyone know whether or not DJ LeMahieu turns out? I picked him up in the Rule 5..

I just beat the Reds 3-2 on a Jayson Werth infield single in the bottom of the 8th! Storen came on and got the save.

                    My Nats are 6-3 now.

Through 9 games Jayson Werth is raking. Hitting in the .360's with 4 HR's and 10 RBIs.

One more game left with the Reds then it's 4 games with the 'Stros.

Welp just gave up 25 hits and 17 runs.... to the Astros. I couldn't get anyone out in the 6th inning and they were assisted by 2 errors, multiple balls going just under gloves, and balls that I could have got if I was able to dive with the corner infielders. It was rough. The game shot my era up by a good .20 plus.

Lost my world series against the Tigers, no surprise there with the lineup they had. I can only hope they lose some players this offseason. What really sucked is I pitched a 1 hitter in game 5 and lost due to it being a solo HR.

Guess I need to focus on getting some bats this offseason now that I have the pitching.

Go get a few bats from the Tigers. Two birds with one stone.

Update on my White Sox franchise...which I am way behind. I am still in May.

Just finished a 3 game stand against Kansas City where I took 2 of 3. Big news I found out by seeing the starting lineup for game 1 was they traded for Chase Utley. I then checked the transactions and yep, they just got him. Weird trade since they traded some no namer(well at least I don't know) for Utley and another player.

I now start a 2 game series with the Tigers with the first game featuring Verlander vs. Sale. I shelled Verlander last time but still a bit scared of his "stuff" if he is on. Paul Konerko is still on fire and leading the league in home runs, rbis and was on top in average but I think dropped to second behind Miguel Cabrera.

Hey guys. My franchise, my show 12 and other for the PS3 has gotten put on hold by the flashing red light. I was about to start game 58, a series versus the Blue Jays at the TED. I check out this video on you tube. I am going give it a try. I am an original PS3 since 2006-07.

Cash is an issue right now,$129 plus fees from Sony and $300.00 for a new one. So I am going to buy a heat gun and the thermal compound. Hopefully I will join you guys back real soon! I'll be watching! Most def!
