Re: MLB 12 The Show - Vita Impressions Thread

I used to play RTTS on my PSP a couple years ago. After two years, my eyesight must have worsened. It's hard to pickup the ball. I'll quit playing MLB The Show on the Vita unless there's a way to play baseball with a magnifying glass in one hand. For now, I'll only use the Vita to watch movies.

Sounds like they will not patch it. After the big hype created around it in feb I was expecting more from them. PS3 received few patches for some gameplay fixes but nothing for Vita.

I bought Vita for MLB12 but asked me now if I would sink another $350 into it I have to say no.

I've been debating going back to the Vita to play the Show because my PS3 TV is down, but I am on the fence.

One thing you can do on the Vita with hitting is zero in on exact location with the touch screen. If you touch the zone you guess before the pitch you will receive feedback if the pitch is in that zone, or slightly out of it. You can really sit on zones with good hitters then. Also, if it's slightly out of the zone (ball) you know early on so you can actually draw walks on the Vita.

As far as timing goes, I don't have any recommendations for that.

I'm not playing anymore the show on my Vita. To be honest I regret to have been influenced too much on what I've heard. My bad. Only myself to blame here.

Can be a good product for a portable device but too many missing details compared to PS3 version and this is what I like from The Show, details.

Too bad, I think it's fantastic on the Vita. I mean, I know it has its downfalls, but I love just sitting downstairs on the couch with the family, getting through a game in my hands.

Yeah, and I'm looking forward to taking my Franchise on the road with me in a couple of weeks when I go on vacation.

Yep bought it for all those reasons. But to my own taste they've done to many compromised compared to the original version. Just afraid next year we'll have an even bigger gap.

Let say just the pircher speed between 2 pitches is bot working. It's fixed on the ps3 but they never took the time to fix it on the Vita. It's a little detail but it's just adding to the too fast pace onthe vita. They're is more than that, just an example.

They put so much emphasis on their sales pitch last feb than I bited. Where are they now to tell us what's going on with Vita patch? Nowhere probably because they've no intention to patch it anymore. But theywill reappear next january for sure.

I'm going same way. Sold my Vita and sticking with good old PS3.

Vita version just didn't for me this year. It was fun to take on the road, which I did, but it could not substitute the PS3 version at all. I miss too much with the Vita version (cutscenes and sounds of the show). Unless SCEA brings the Vita up closer on par with the PS3 version next year, it will take a good combo package for me to get the Vita version again.

I would like to see more presentation next year, for sure. Still, for a first-year effort on a new console, I think MLB 12 is really good.

Just weighing in to say I'm still playing this game and enjoying it.

What batting camera do you guys use? I'm in a slump and thinking of changing from Wide.

I use the one that is set inward from the batter, out to the pitcher. I forget what it's called, but it's basically the opposite of Offset.

Probably won't help you at all, but I'm using the default view. I'm kind of scared to try the other ones; I like having uniformity between the Vita and PS3.

Agree with you. Per Ramone cut scenes and fastplay were left off on purpose because they thaught Vita users would prefer that. I'm sorry but with all respect I don't believe it.

There's some framerate issues on the Vita, graphics were scaled down, lot of little details that makes MLB13 so unique are not in there. Im afraid the gap may be bigger next year.
