        Found it odd...

But is there any button to recall the pitch the catcher wants you to throw?

I would be appalled if there isn't any button for that command, yet there's two different buttons to look out to second base on the mound.

          That's an issue.
Couldn't agree more. It isn't so much that the game plays fast as much as it plays quick.

I have found that hitting the down button keypad (causes batter to ask for time) is the most sure way to keep from getting quick pitched when you want to pause, take a break, look up some data/stats, etc.

I get the exact same pixelated crowd in the background almost everytime I have a player coming up to the plate.

And it's off to the side so it has nothing to do with netting.

              Sigh...

If only some presentations could be patched in... would make a world of difference.

Realistically is their any shot for them to patch some presentation/replays into this game?? or are they going to wait till mlb 13. the more I play the ps3 version and then go back to vita the more I miss all the presentation scenes/closeups....

Yea. Then you use the left analog stick to predict where you think the pitch will go. Just like every The Show game.

does the vita/ps3 interactivity require a playstation plus subscription?

fast play got to me a little, I was speed pitching and didnt come set, balk. moved the go ahead run into scoring position. Of course he would come around to score. But I love that they have balks. even if you have to turn them on, because they are off by default.

Thanks for this. I had a hard time getting pinch hitters and runners in the game. We need a little more time.

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Vita Impressions Thread

All right ive never been a fan of this game (heresy in here, i know). However, the ps3 connectivity was too much for me to pass up & i decided to give it another shot this year. My impressions:

Graphics: Outstanding. It isnt 100% PS3 graphics, but very close. The frame rate does dip at times, but overall this game looks great. The sacrifices that had to be made like ball size, crowds, & cut scenes are understandable to me & dont subtract from my experience.

Pitching: im flat-out garbage when it comes to pulse pitching. I just cant get a small circle with any consistency. I like the pulse system the best, but i cant do anything with it. I think 2K's analog pitching is still the best system, but I'll be very happy once i get a little better at pulse pitching.

Batting: feels much better with the new physics. In the past i hated batting in this game because it felt too scripted. The new system has a much better feel to me.

Music: Come on son. That rap song at the beginning is horrific. Vanilla Ice's ninja turtle rap was better than that. It sucks that u cant turn off individual tracks, i want to have in game music between innings so im going to have to fight through the unlistenable menu music.

Overall I am very excited about this game on a handheld. I will play this at lunch at work and i'll wind up playing the show MUCH MORE tjan i ever would have without the Vita version. I actually enjoy the lack of cutscenes in the game. I could never get into the game before because it felt like i wqs watching more than i was playing. Im all for choice so ppl can ha e cutscenes if they want them but playing this way will actually make me play the ps3 version more. Kudos to SCEA!
